IMHO -- Obama Makes Bush Look Like An Amateur
IMHO -- In My Honest Opinion ^ | 12/16/11 | averagedad1

Clearly Senator Obama, and later Candidate Obama, made it abundantly clear that the indefinite detention of detainees at Guantanamo Bay without the due process of a trial is wrong on all grounds – legal, ethical, and moral. He even goes as far as to say that it works against us in our war on terror.

Now, let’s compare that to what has just happened recently…

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has been sent to Obama who has said that he will sign it into law. Now, pay attention, this is the part of the law that should frighten all Americans –

From Business Insider – “…allowing the U.S. military to arrest and hold anyone it deems a terrorist, even on American soil.”

But wait, there’s an even more terrifying part –

Yep — the power grab by Zero (I like that) makes the Patriot Act pale in comparison.

Once again my friends. Obama did not do this alone.

Congress passed this atrocious attack on our Constitution.

Obama merely signed it.

Place the blame where it belongs.

Two problems —

1) If you listen to the liberal and progressive lunacy that is circulating now, Obama signing his name to a bill is to be credited as a presidential success.

2) He could have stopped it. He has the power to veto laws that should not be enacted. As always, the buck stops with the President.

So, he will be held responsible for this.

I thought there was a 99-1 Senate vote exempting US citizens? I wish someone would clear this up, I can find nothing about it.. I could give shiite about non-us citizens, we dont enjoy protections overseas..

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Citizens have rights under our Constituition. Terrorists have no rights under the Constitution and all they are deserving is a military trial and the noose.

A Prisoners of War had a uniform and identification of the country for which they fought. Since Terrorists eschew these they do not have POW rights and SHOULD EXPECT THE HARSHEST JUDGEMENT.

By giving Terrorists rights we INVITE THEM TO TERRORIZE US IN OUR HOMES, OUR SCHOOLS and PLACES OF WORSHIP.

WRONG WRONG WRONG

What I have seen online is that Obama is the one who can grant waivers which is how they would get an exemption.

“Citizens have rights under our Constituition. Terrorists have no rights under the Constitution and all they are deserving is a military trial and the noose.”

But that is what Obama just changed with this law. He can waive the requirement for an American to be held as a terrorist suspect; or he can allow them to be detained.

There's a big difference between Bush and Obama when it comes to "indefinite detention" at "Club GITMO."

While Bush wanted to have a place to hold illegal combatants and terrorists captured on foreign battlefiles or foreign countries, Obama wants to have a place to hold people HE declares to be "enemies of The State" (AKA Obama).

Hold him resp[onsible for signing it, but 60 Members of the Senate voted for it. The means at least 10 republicans voted for it.

Kets do a good job and hold them responsible too.

Yep — that is where the logical end of this is. Once the government has that power; then the people will need to be afraid.

I have to agree with you on this one. The government should have to provide due process when it comes to Americans.

I don’t understand why this is so difficult to understand.

If we already know who is a terrorist/criminal and who is innocent then we have no reason to ever have court cases.

The point of due process is that we don’t just allow accusations to be treated as facts. Anyone can be ACCUSED of being a terrorist. How is this so farking difficult to understand. That is the ENTIRE point of opposing this bill.

Saying terrorists deserve no due process is basically saying guilty people are guilty. The entire point of our justice system is to find out WHETHER OR NOT PEOPLE ARE GUILTY (WHETHER OR NOT PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY TERRORISTS).

The amount of sheer stupidity required to not understand this is the amount required for us to devolve into a police state. Thanks buddy.
