You might take heart from the fact that the left-wing radicals are whack-jobs. They have no idea how far their revolutionary fantasies are from reality. In fact, the people who thought that Nixon was too heavy-handed vis-a-vis the New Left, other than the mother hens, were people who essentially despised the New Left.
