Video: Krauthammer Says Newt's Attack On Romney "What You'd Expect From A Socialist"

"On the bet, look, if he said $1 million, it would have been understood as not an actual offer but something that is outrageous. Meaning this is a slam dunk. But being Romney he thought well, maybe a million is too high and $10 will not be understood. So he chose the middle path, which of course is the wrong thing to do," Charles Krauthammer said about Gingrich betting Romney that he would not return money he made from "bankrupting companies" when he was with Bain Capital.

Here it is.

“Which is what he will do to Obama”

This seems to be the gas behind Newt’s recent surge, but don’t trust it. If he’s the best talker available, he also has a list of things he can’t call Obama on as long as, or longer than, Romney’s: global warming, cap ‘n’ trade, welfare reform, Obamacare, bailouts, foreign policy, etc. Oh, and his silver tongue didn’t help him with Clinton, who cleaned his clock back when.

“I happen to think that FDR was one of the worst Presidents of the 20th Century. Yet Newt Gingrich thinks he was the best. Go figure”

I figure that Newt, along with most people and politicians especially, think leadership equals doing things. Blind action is better than no action, apparently, for no reason whatsoever.

“Gingrich is a conservative, but since you don’t believe that...”

He may have been conservative in mid 1990’s, but since then, he has been leftist. Global Warming, individual mandate, cap-and-trade, legalization of illegals, ethanol subsidies, fairness doctrine, “Radical rightwing social engineering”. He has done enormous amount of damage to conservatives in the last 10 years.

I think the problem is his ego. He craves acceptance from liberals and joining every trendy liberal cause gave him that.

THere is no real policy difference between Newt and Mitt. Personality, style and religion differ, but I don’t care too much about those.

I refuse to vote for RINO. Even non-mormon one. Period.

You failed to address the most important part of the question. If not Gingrich, name the conservative who you support that has a chance to win.

Is this just an academic exercise for you. Do you really want Obama.

Can you not answer the simple question?

“Newt may be sounding like a conservative, but no way he beats Obama.”

Even in Dem biased polling, over representing Dems, Gingrich is beating Obama.

The key words are ‘sounding like a conservative.’He is McCain and they said McCain would beat Obama as well.IT is baffling that Perry,Bachmann and Santorum are being dissed by a lot on this forum.(Go look at the Bachmann nasty name calling in the breaking news thread;they tie her to Romney falsely as well)But they don't have BDS at all they are righteous ya know...And Gingrich is the hero in wolf's clothing. After months of watching everyone but _______ be called a RINO now they go for a RINO?I am scratching my head...

Are you suggesting that Newt is TOO WHITE?

Maybe he could get a tanning bed and work on that.

Just don't use Kerry's tanning bed!

I said several times either bachmann or santorum would be ok and we can still have outside nominee.

Newt and Mitt have same policy, only different style and religion. Both are rinos.

Amnesty is the biggest threat and there Newt is even bigger threat.

Just say no to rino.

Big deal. Four years ago, so was McCain.

What Krauthammer fails to see, is that Romney's attack on Newt, for selling his services to a legally organized business for as much money as he can get, is no different from Romney selling his services to a legally organized business for as much money as he can get. Romney's attack on Newt was no different than newt's attack on Romney. In fact, I'll bet that Romney earned more $/hour than Newt.

Krauthammer is simply a conservative Beltway Baby who is more interested in his beltway credentials than his conservative credentials.

Santorum and Bachmann are lightweight’s.

Do they even have 6% of the vote between the two of them...no.

Boggles the mind ... Was just reading about Newt’s praise in his book for Andy Stern as SEIU chief.

“Do they even have 6% of the vote between the two of them...no.”

Bachmann was at 13% in recent IA poll few days ago. Newt was below 5% few weeks ago. Anything can happen.

I will never vote for amnesty, individual mandate, GW, cap-and-trade, fairness doctrine, ethanol subsidies loving progressive.

Big deal. Four years ago, so was McCain.

McCain never led Obama except for the 2 weeks after he named his Veep. Never led before or after that.

Good luck with that. Why you are championing for a progressive elitist with credibility issues is beyond me.

Wait until Axelrod and Soros start their attacks on Newt’s baggage ...

Frankly all the candidates should tell FOX that they will not be participating in the Thursday debate.

They should tell FOX that the debate cannot be trusted to be fair and balanced.

FOX has spent the whole week propping only Romney up after his miserable and stupid “jabberwalky” debate performances lately.

This whole debate will be built around pimping for Mitt.

Honest to God, Romney talking makes me nervous. His speech patterns are so jittery and contrived.
