I have nothing but the utmost respect for Sheriff Joe Arpaio. I want to believe this. However, I’ve never heard of this particular presidential candidate, so I’m not going to get too excited at this point. Instead, I’m going to take a “wait and see” approach.
I've never heard of him either, and I suspect he is only a Presidential candidate for the purpose of establishing standing to sue. I doubt the man seriously thinks he can be elected, but as a "candidate" he can claim "injury" and thereby acquire standing to challenge and sue.
It is a tactic.
