I can’t believe it! That was George Maharis introducing “It’s my life” — he was on Route 66 iirc with that freckle faced red headed guy...
Yeah Judith, he released a lot of music himself and hosted that show Hullaboo... a bit before my time, I never saw the show- but was sure surprised to see him there too~
You sure they're not from North Korea ?
Eric Burdon can be seen these days sporting a shirt with a giant Che Guevarra face on it. I think the program was on PBS.
Chas Chandler, the bassist, also went on to produce a few Jimi Hendrix early albums.

Where did the time go?
I don’t care much for his politics... but a genius musician, and WHAT a stud! My hero lol
Greatest from The Animals, hands down:

(House in New Orleans)
Over the years I have , sadly , discovered that 90% of all the musicians I have dug are leftists or lean to the left . The music business , like Hollywood , is filled with people whose politics we wouldn’t care for . What to do ? Not appreciate their work ? As long as they keep their politics OUT of the music , I can overlook our diffences .
It was Martin Milner. I feel so old knowing this and will be humming "We've got to get out of this place" for the rest of the day, lol.
Where was “Walker” ?
Looks like it is a neighborhood in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Which makes sense, since that’s where they were from, and probably in / around London when they were writing/performing it.
I’m a boomer, too, but like things with a bit more “edge” to it...love heavy metal...
so this is my fave EB and the Animals song...enjoy, hippies!

I have been trying to trying to deduce that myself
Since this single was released under a different title in the USA than Britain -as “Georgia”- I looked at that map and did find a Walker County in GA, and ‘the big city’ would be Atlanta, then... which is ‘to the south’ of Walker, per the lyrics
That’s the best I can figure, fwiw
