According to radio host Rush Limbaugh, last week was not the first time former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich said he was going to be the nominee, and has been predicting an easy primary win since at least May.
"Long before he officially announced his presidential run, he told me he's going to run. He went through his agenda bullet point by bullet point, Limbaugh said on his May 17 show.
Limbaugh said that, at the meeting, Gingrich detailed how he was thinking beyond the nominating process and already dismissing who at the time were thought be some of the favorites.

um... everyone thinks they are going to win... why else would you run if you knew you were going to lose?
Remains to be seen. Here’s hoping NOT.
Gingrich’s real identity/alter ego:

Newt has a habit of setting himself on fire, and then running through a crowded theater yelling “fire!”.
People who live in glass houses sink ships.
The evidence points more toward door number one than door number two.
Thinking that to himself is one thing, bragging to the world before a single vote is cast is quite another.
And he didn’t simply brag to a group of people back then, he is bragging now.
Not a single vote cast...
Or because he is an insider he was fully aware of rhe game polan from the beginning. Since the establishment owns both paraties, they are in full control.
He’s both.
I’d take him over Obama.
You hit the nail on the head with that one. To me, it isn't about being full of one's self (though Newt, like most politicians, does on some occasions), it is about confidence and also about instilling confidence in fence-sitting potential supporters. He's running for the most powerful office on the planet, and it doesn't display a lot of leadership abilities to say something like, "Well, I might win if the media savages all of my opponents and I'm the last one left standing."
Rush mentioned this back when the MSM were writing Gingrich off and predicting his campaign would shut down. Regardless whether Gingrich is politically savvy or just arrogant, he has clearly proven that the MSM are a bunch of dolts with big mouths and small minds.
Newt has successfully judged our mood.
We want an old-fashioned gun-slinger-someone not afraid to tell us who he's going to shoot when he gets to be sheriff.
We're in a foul mood. The media has spent years painting Newt as mean.
Now we WANT somebody mean.
Backfire!
Newt knows that half the country harbors anger at the media for selling us the bill of goods that is Barack Obama. Republicans feel duped too. So Newt is the one who challenges the premises of silly debate questions.
We're angry at Congress. Newt is the one who says Dodd and Frank should go to jail. Like I said, we're angry and we're scared.
We want the dude with the gun. Newt has fired all his bullets at the media, and Obama. He has wasted not one bullet firing at other candidates.
We like Santorum and Bachmann, but we just can't see them bursting through the saloon doors, guns drawn. They're at the bar ordering sasparilla. We feel like we've just been robbed, so we're not looking for a Pope, we're not looking for a prom queen. Give us the dude with the gun.
Judging from his campaign, Newt has realized this for some time. He's going to be our nominee, and probably our next president.
