Not endorsing Gingrich today according to this - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2816254/posts

Why make that statement when the campaign’s denial is right there under breaking news?

I sensed in watching Mr. Cain speak, after the FOX bimbos and friends flayed him nonstop for what seemed to be hours, that he was speaking under duress. Perhaps some of his death threats had something to do with that.

The qustion is, just where did those those threats come?

Never mind the facts when you can continue to hysterically lie about Cain

He knew the woman for 13 years. He helped here the last 60 days.

But then you smear bot scum have never bothered with the facts before so why should we expect you to start now.

You are a prime example of why Rick Perry will never be President.

When a GOP campaign routinely engages in your sort of slanderous slime bag attacks, GOP voters go "hmmm just what are these scum trying to hide"

I must admit that Drudge is my homepage -- and that I actually went to FR AFTER posting this transcript. My bad. Mea culpa. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.

Your point is well taken. The memory of the Clarence Thomas hearings are still fresh in my mind (from years ago). It was a “he said, she said” thing. Some pretty outlandish accusations were also made against Clarence Thomas at that time too, none of which could be corroborated. Such is the case with this current Cain “controversy”. Ultimately God knows one’s heart — and who is telling the truth.

Try using logic instead of cliches.

Mr. Cain has done what he's done and said what he's said. Each of us choose whether to support him based on our assessment of whether he is being honest. No one is obliged to assume that any politician is telling the truth.

Sacajaweau has not lied about Mr. Cain on this thread, even less lied “hysterically”.

It is one thing to support Mr. Cain and to be disappointed that he chose to withdraw his candidacy.

It is quite another to attack fellow FReepers because they have a different opinion than you do.

“It is one thing to support Mr. Cain and to be disappointed that he chose to withdraw his candidacy.”

Cain did not withdraw his candidacy. He suspended his candidacy. Big difference. I have a feeling that once a thorough investigation of the sources of the slurs is done, he may come back strong.

He did say prior to the suspension that he had people involved in investigating the accusations.

I would love to see him come back roaring.

I agree with your thoughts. "Suspension" can mean many things, but (in my mind too) it doesn't NECESSARILY mean "end" (a campaign). A Gingrich/Cain ORCain/Gingrich ticket would suit me fine. (Although either a Bachmann or Santorum as the nominee would also be suitable for me too.)

Mr. Cain’s candidacy is finished.

He says that it is because 100% untrue charges are causing unacceptable grief to his family.

I don’t buy this.

I think the overwhelming likelihood is that there is at least some truth to Ms. White’s charges.

Mr. Cain was already struggling before Ms. White went public. When he made his announcement on Saturday I was watching live and hoping that he’d stay in and fight back. He did not. Based on what I saw, I believe that Mr. Cain thinks that his association with Ms. White (when added to his other shortcomings as a candidate) renders him unelectable.

Mr. Cain was all but finished Saturday morning before his announcement.

It would have been very difficult for him to come roaring back off of the ropes and get back into the fight.

Instead he threw in the towel.

He is done and it is by his own choosing.

It’s time to move on.

Rogue,
Sorry but I was using logic....sacajaweau intimated in their post that Cain was unfaithful to his wife.... Logic would dictate that the cliche I used was correct. He IS innocent till he is proven guilt. He has denied the affair took place, called them false accusations etc... So therefore logic dictates again that he has declared his innocence.
Either way he is currently out of the hunt so I have to decide whom to throw my support to But one thing is for sure. Until Cain says that he did have an affair with White or harrassed any of the other accusers HE IS INNOCENT-—LOGICALLY
