And that is true of the other candidates as well. Their polling numbers are not going to turn around. The only one who hasn't received a shot at the prize is Santorum. The others have had their day in the sun and blew it big time: Bachmann, Perry, Paul, Cain, Pawlenty, and even Huntsman if you count the enormous visibility he had as ambassador to China.
Perry needs to save his money for his senatorial bid. He is young enough to have another shot at this. A senatorial seat and some national level experience would do him a world of good. I would love to have his voice in the US Senate.
My FRiend it looks like you are trying to talk yourself into accepting an establishment Pub as your candidate. I am not willing to give up on Perry. We haven't started voting yet and the polls do change. Newt is on a nice run, but in 2 months that can all change.
It's the tortoise vs. the hare.
Perry has not stumbled as badly as the media tries to portray it. After Cain, Santorum, Bachmann, Huntsman and maybe Paul drop out lets see where the support goes. I like Perry because I know where he stands and he is consistent. Newt is on a good run right now, but do we know the positions he takes today he will hold tomorrow?
Also, the baggage Newt has to deal with is going to be tough to overcome. I think he plays right into the image that obama wants to create that the Pubs are a bunch of rich, inside dirty dealing, capitalists who don't care about the "working man" (a phrase I particularly hate, I've never seen one of the "working men" in the office on a Sat. night trying to figure out how to solve a problem).
As I've said many times we will see where we are at after SC & FL.
