Debuting the C4P Iowa Television Ad: “The Challenge” (Run Sarah Run)

Palin: We will not solve our economic problems in this country until we confront the crony capitalism of our permanent political class. This is socialism for the very rich and the very poor but it is a brutal form of capitalism for the rest of us. It’s the collusion of big government, big business. It’s at the heart of President Obama’s economic vision.

We need sudden and relentless reform. That will return power to we the people. We need people with a proven record of reform. I served in public office in a state that had a corruption problem. I fought that corrupt system. I took on a corrupt and compromised political class. The challenge is not simply to replace Obama in 2012.

The real challenge is who and what we will replace him with.

Why is Bachmann weird? You might be falling for the tactics of the MSM, who often try to paint their opponents as weird or crazy. The sad part is that many FR members fall for these smear jobs

I agree. Too many of us lazily nod our heads and start playing along with the negative memes that the left promotes for each of our candidates. But I believe this is true with Gingrich as well. If I had a buck for every time someone mentioned Newt's "baggage" without actually saying what that baggage is or why it means you couldn't vote for him over Obama, I'd be rich indeed.

>>Palin isn’t running. She isn’t running because she knows what will be done to her and she doesn’t want the job.<<

But it would be interesting to see what her reaction would be if Perry offered her the VP slot again. I think she’d take it, and I think Perry/Palin would be a winning combination.

Both represent the small-government attitude that is running high in the country now. Perry is pro-business and Palin is the antithesis of crony capitalism. We need the pro-business attitude, but it needs to be tempered by a healthy suspicion of crony capitalism. This combo could do it, in my opinion.

As to what will be done to Palin, it’s already been done, and she stood it well, as compared to, say, Herman Cain, whom I also had hopes for initially. I think Palin has been biding her time, waiting to see how it all shakes out. I’d be real curious to know what she really thinks of Gingrich, but suspect that her opinion wouldn’t be all that favorable.

But the real question is, what would the reaction be in Iowa to Perry’s campaign if he announced now that he was picking Palin as his VP? No effect? I doubt that very much, but could be wrong...

I have yet to see someone claim that Gingrich’s “baggage” would make them choose Obama over him (well, unless they’re already a Democrat or Moderate, of course), but expecting everyone to list that baggage is silly. It’s significant, and the pile is getting added to weekly.

It’s funny how those who felt that the children of illegals should be penalized for attending a Texas college and ruled Perry out of consideration on that basis alone, now excuse Gingrich for taking essentially the same tack on illegals even though the pile of baggage that supposed “sin” is added to is ten times as high as Perry’s pile. And that’s just this week’s example.

Remember his reaction to the Ryan plan? Remember the photo op with Nancy Pelosi. Hell, even if that hadn’t been a photo op supporting global warming spending, it would have been bad enough, but it was just that. And there’s plenty more where that comes from. He’s crony capitalism incarnate, for starters, and that is the number one problem this country faces right now, whether people realize it or not.

If you’re not doing the fleecing, you’re among the sheep being sheared, so ask yourself: Have you fleeced anyone lately? If not, say Baaa! (And Gingrich has fleeced several million dollars over the past decade, by the way...Baaa!...yes, from me too...and I don’t like it one bit.) But I’ll still vote for him over Obama, if it comes down to that unfortunate choice.

I have a gut feeling this next election will be one for the history books.

I sincerely hope We the People have a say in the next election. As you said, I don't want the elites and LSM picking the RINO candidate for us that we are supposed to rubber stamp.

Sounds like the Tea Party has to turn out in force, (millions?), at the Republican Convention - especially if Mitt is "chosen" for us before hand. Only 25% of Republicans want him. Who's our candidate? A brokered convention? 68' redux? It's going to be interesting. . .
