Who Will Sarah Endorse?

Interesting article from RCP about the possible endorsement from Sarah Palin and the effect it can have, especially in Iowa:

“Iowans spend a lot of time examining these candidates, and no Iowan is going to invest all of this time looking at the candidates and the issues and then let someone else make that decision for them,” said Cain’s Iowa consultant Steve Grubbs. “Having said that, there are certain endorsements that would certainly provide momentum.”

And Sarah's would most certainly provide momentum. The article goes over the pro's and con's of each of the candidates and the author, Scott Conroy, believes it may be Newt:

...While Palin has characteristically kept her cards close to her chest, advisers suggest that the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is likely to endorse before someone emerges as the inevitable nominee -- and that Newt Gingrich appears to be best-positioned to secure her support.

"They speak very favorably of Newt and what they see as his credentials as compared to Perry and Romney," one member of Palin's inner circle said of the former Alaska governor and her husband, Todd, who has long served as her unofficial chief adviser.

Gingrich has been particularly effusive in expressing his admiration for Palin over the last few months, and she has returned the favor by heaping praise on the former House speaker.

"Newt Gingrich again, I think, did the best because he seems to be above a lot of the bickering that goes on," Palin said on Fox News after a Republican debate in Las Vegas last month, adding that Gingrich would “clobber” President Obama in a general election debate.

It would be a strange endorsement but with the class of Republican candidates we have, he may very well be right.

He is "the establishment" which she rails against, rightly so, but compared to the other's...what are her choices? If she endorses anyone it must be someone who can win. After going through the liberal media meat grinder Bachmann won't get it. Cain may have had the lead to get her endorsement but his gaffes may be to much for her since we need someone who can clean the floor in any debate with "the won."

Newt would, as Palin said, clobber Obama in any debate.

Sarah will continue support for Michele Bachmann..
Until some one wins the primarys..

Probably won’t be Bachmann because the republican party is not conservative.. its moderate..
And those moderates will therefore choose Newt, Romney or Cain...

I don’t really expect her to endorse anyone. None of the candidates particularly live up to her standards. But when things get down to the wire, there may indeed be a need for her to make a tactical decision to steer the election away from the biggest RINO.

Normally I don’t even care about anyone’s endorsement, but Palin’s is one of the incredibly rare exceptions that might make a difference. Especially since I can envision a scenario in which by the time the primaries reach my state, I might very likely be confronted with three or four ‘equally’ crummy candidates from which to choose. In such a situation, Palin’s stamp-of-approval could indeed be just enough to tip me off the fence towards someone. It won’t necessarily ignite any enthusiasm, but it could break a potential logjam for me.

Sarah either took all of us for a ride or someone got the major goods on her. I am in the camp that something happened. Think about the summer tour, the hour long interview in Iowa. All of that was building momentum and then it was all over. Difficult to believe she would take us for a ride, but then it has happened before. If she was taken down, then we must realize how epic this battle is for all conservatives.

I laugh because this article is pushing Newt

It's not really an article, it is a blog post from flappy asses blog.

It’s amazing how some are so easily affected by the media

Re
“I just have a bad feeling about 2012.

What, that Obama will be reelected? It’s probably a better than 50/50 chance that will be the result. However, that shouldn’t stop every Conservative’s cause to gain a stronger presence (or controlling majority) in both the House and the Senate.

While Obama still is the favorite, I don’t believe his being victorious would lead to gains by the Left in the legislative branches. The Tea Party supporters could produce results similar to 2010, where we would then have complete gridlock.

It’s not easy to combat a more clever and more devoted Socialist movement (versus the milk toast Republican establishment). What we’re up against is a battle against both the Left and the Republican Party. Reform sometimes takes place over a period of time.

Don’t lose faith.

There are those who do think that, considering the situation, it would be better to allow the presidency to be resumed in 2012, and then collapse, to be resumed and rebuilt from the ground up as the Declaration of Independence provides, etc.

Well... her “advisors” have a history of being near 100% wrong when “quoted”. Thankfully.

What part of that post was so LOLish and seemed to have come from doing drugs, Vet? I don’t know this poster, but he or she seemed to have posted from the heart and I understand it because I was also her supporter until she announced that she would not run.

For whatever reason she decided not to run, it is up to her. But ridiculing someone for being disappointed and having one’s own mind to decide for oneself, rather than worshiping her and voting for whomever she endorses, IS ridiculous.

Who Will Sarah Endorse?

The way this field is shaping up, I’m beginning to think that question is exactly the wrong way around.

Did she personally promise you two that she'd run for the presidency? No one is a bigger supporter of Gov. Palin than I am, but the $#*t she's had to go through since 2008 has been unreal. But to claim that she's lost her influence is beyond laughable. She is the political equivalent of Elton John, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, all rolled into one.

Of course she did not personally promise anyone that she would run. Nevertheless, I am disappointed; is it okay with you?

Laugh all you want, but I will vote for whomever I believe is the best candidate in the field. I do have my own mind and don’t have to blindly follow anyone.

EWWWWWW.... Elton John, Justin whoever and “Lady” GAGA??? You can do better than that, Vet, politically speaking or otherwise.

If you don't think she matters politically then you either don't understand politics or you are being disingenuous...which is it?

2ndDivisionVet:

I always enjoy reading your posts, and know there is no bigger Palin supporter than you. If my post came across as if I was dissing Governor Palin, this was not my intention.

Look, I'd love to be wrong here, but I really don't think I am. I, like many others hung on every Tweet, speech, and FOX appearance Gov. Palin made. One of the the reasons I did was because I thought she was going to run. I thought (hoped!) I was hearing the utterances of my future President. I believe this was the case with millions of other Americans as well.

Your taking this as a personal attack on Governor Palin, and it's not. I'm simply stating what I firmly believe to be true. Governor Palin as a private citizen; one who's not seeking public office does not have the same clout as when she was perceived to be a possible GOP contender.

Let me ask you this: if Governor Palin still has the same clout now as she did when folks thought she was going to announce her candidacy; where are all the attacks by the Left on her? Why aren't her Tweets as popular now as they were before she said she wasn't going to run? Again, this isn't a criticism, it's what I believe to be fact. Governor Palin no longer has the clout that she did. Oh, and for the record; I don't blame her for deciding not to run. She and her family went through hell.

If you doubt my sincerity, go back and view my posting history prior to Sarah's announcement; you'll see I was also a very die-hard Sarah supporter. I would love to be wrong here, and if I am, I'll do a vanity admitting my error.

BTW, I hope you and your wife have been feeling better. I'll be praying for you two. You're a good person and I always appreciate your thoughts.
