I don’t have religious problems with evolution. But I do have scientific problems. It just doesn’t make scientific sense. The statistical odds against it are astronomical.
So, we even get scientists coming up with an “infinite number of universes” theory, just to get over THAT little problem.
Just to ask one simple question, how on earth does a creature evolve and develop wings? Wings are an advantage, certainly, but how about all the intermediate stages? What’s the advantage in half-sized wings? Quarter sized wings? They are an extra burden until the point where they actually work, so how on earth could natural selection favor them?
The same with every other aspect of the physical body of any animal. And that doesn’t even get into the deal breaker—the complexity of numerous constituent organic compounds at the cellular level, more than a dozen of which already have to exist (without any purpose) so they can come together and produce even a one-celled creature?
None of it makes sense.
The simple answer: By being created with the ability to evolve.
There's a lot of science behind the TOE. Still, just because there's a lot of science behind the TOE that doesn't mean we evolved from common ancestors. After looking at all the evidence I'd say there are two potential theories:
