I think Herman is great, but I have already written off his candidacy. Warts and all, I now think Newt is our best chance.
Do you sleep, or just post anti-Cain stuff 24/7?
Did you actually watch it? Cain did fine!
People have the right to their opinion. Some of Cain’s supporters are flavor of the monthers. They’ll never find a candidate to stick with.
I agree--I really liked him, and still like him as a person, but he's simply not competent.
I don't know about Newt. I wish we could start from scratch, but we can't.
This is hereby proclaimed a “CAIN THREAD”.
Please no whining.
Thanks in advance.
I watched the whole 24 minute interview, and Cain clearly had the upper hand. The only way you could interpret it as you have, is to be decidedly anti-Cain, which I conclude you are.
The notion that Letterman can make or unmake candidates is one the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard in my entire life.
And this is a conservative writing such preposterous twaddle? He’s an insult to the intelligence of credulous people!
Cain is fine and not many people watch Letterman. Moreover, on a Friday night.
It's not the main news so I don't think it's as bad as the anti-Cain camp is trying to portray it to be.
I never said that Letterman made or unmade our candidates.
The guy who wrote the article did.
What a maroon!
Ya think?
The OP is a very blatant, very determined Perry supporter.
Using, let’s call them what they are:
Saul Alinsky tactics.
“Cain did fine!”
It was the creepy Letterman who looked like an angry, mad dog. In fact, the look on Letterman’s face reminded me of the devil, all he needed to finish the look was two horns.
“..I now think Newt is our best chance.”
Not really. LMSM will do the same thing to Newt as they did to Palin, Cain, et al.
Let’s just ignore the media, and vote for the most conservative candidate in the race, and not let LMSM pick our candidate for us again.
Long ago, I regularly watched ‘Late Night with David Letterman’, and one night G. Gordon Liddy appeared as a guest to promote his new autobiography, ‘Will’. David was, of course, fully prepared to mock and belittle the Watergate mastermind.
After a few back and forth jabs, Letterman referenced the chapter in Liddy’s book where Gordon addressed overcoming his fears by confronting them head on. For example, Liddy had a fear of lightning and so one day he climbed a tree during a lightning storm and sat in that tree until the storm passed.
As a young man Liddy also had an irrational fear of rats, and so one day he caught, cooked, and ate a rat. Letterman went after Liddy about this incident for a laugh, and finally Gordon (paraphrasing)replied, “Well, David, it was an exercise in overcoming my fear of rats. And now, I am no more afraid of a rat than I am... of you.”
Letterman shrunk to the size of a pea as the audience let out a breath in the knowledge that Liddy had just delivered a knockout punch.
The point is, if you are going to stroll into a lion’s den (or a rat’s nest) then be prepared to fight and defend yourself. I can’t bring myself to have any sympathy for Cain.
If the author was an actual conservative he would have been pointing out Cain’s high points — there were many — and Cain’s good humor throughout. But I’m sure from what I know intimately that “American Thinker” is now a bought and paid for Romney site.
Deal with snarky liberal late night talk show hosts?
Really, do Conservatives watch Letterman? Do we deeply care what he has to say? Is he a Conservative opinion maker? Enquiring minds want to know.
Frankly, about Letterman, DILLIGAF?
