BERKELEY, Calif. Goodbye, city park, hello, college green.
As city officials around the country move to disband Occupy Wall Street encampments amid growing concerns over health and public safety, protesters have begun to erect more tents on college campuses.
We are trying to get mass numbers of students out, said Natalia Abrams, 31, a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, and an organizer with Occupy Colleges, a national group coordinating college-based protesters.
Though only a handful of colleges have encampments, tents went up last week at Harvard in Cambridge, Mass., and here at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, protesters in California have vowed to occupy dozens of other campuses in the coming days....

Ya reap whatcha sow!
YEAH!!!
Whoa ! How can a grassroots leaderless movement have an organizer with a national organization and a national group coordinating? I am going to call CNN right this minute this is breaking news!
They aren’t “shifting” to college campuses .. they are mostly just going home to where they came from.
IOW: We couldn't convince anyone in the real world so we will go after the soft-headed barely-out-of-high school crowd.
These idiots are, in fact, mostly college dweebs (one wishes that their parents were each individually informed about the “educational” choices their offspring are choosing to spend their parents’ money on). In fact, an acquaintance of mine who takes the Bolt Bus once a week to travel to Harvard for an extension degree she’s taking (most of the classes are online, but at least one class has to be in-person on the campus) missed half of her dearly paid-for class because a bunch of OWS types had encamped in Harvard Square and the campus, in a fit of not-knowing-what-do-to, had locked down all the gates and wouldn’t let anyone in without a copy of their course schedule and a photo ID (keeping in mind that the administration had sent out the first email about the situation at about 4.30PM - an hour before my acquaintance’s class started).
Turns out, Harvard wasn’t trying to protect itself from invading protestors; no, Harvard was trying to protect those “protestors” from the consequences of their own actions - choosing to set up tents and sleep in the middle of Harvard Square, riddled as it is with muggers, bums and other undesirables (from my perspective, of course, that’s exactly where the OWS protest monkeys belong) - because these “protestors” were all - gasp - Harvard undergrads, mostly freshmen and sophmores - and Gaia forbid that some privileged, pampered little OWS protest-monkey should get hurt, or otherwise suffer the consequences of his own actions, so close to Harvard itself; the protest-monkeys’ parents would never let them hear the end of it (and just think of all the lost donation money).
Parasites and their enablers; the codependency of liberalism and academia.
Really good move on the part of the Democrat protesters: college presidents and faculty are total pussies, and won’t do squat until the rape, riots, arson, drug overdoses, murders, suicides, shootings, stabbings, tuberculosis, assault, theft, mountains of garbage, filth, feces, urine, anti-Semitism, actual demented lunatics, anarchist, mass arrests, assaults against police officers, property destruction, flaunting of local ordinances, complete pointlessness, narcissism, complete inability to affect election outcomes, total destruction of college grounds, and total failure to obtain permits gets totally out of hand.
This is gonna be WAY fun to watch! I’m checking on my popcorn supply as soon as I hit the Enter key.
Goin’ Home
My pleasure.
