Two additional points to ponder:
1. How do they appoint as interi coach someone who has been there for 33 years. Are we to believ that he had NO knowledge of the previosu incidents, had heard no rumors, had never seen Sandusky acting odd around kids? He's just as culpable.
2. The social pathology of pedophiles is well known. They often operate in rings...exchanging child porn, and often, sadly, children, among themselves. Was there a ring operating "in plain sight" in un-Happy Valley?
I don’t get demonstrating the guy’s removal from office.

You know, data recovery has evolved eons beyond where it was in 2005. Wonder if this thing is still in an evidence room somewhere?
Keep in mind that their enrollment is over 44K a small percentage were demonstrating in favor of Paterno.
This bastard Sandusky has destroyed how many lives and maybe the entire Penn State community. Anyone who enabled him or looked the other way has some serious explaining to do.
Then the other 90% should have been counterdemonstrating those filth.
That's because Gricar is the man who may have let Jerry Sandusky off the hook in 1998, when reports first surfaced of Sandusky's sexual misconduct (showering with an 11-year-old boy).

As the Sandusky investigation moves forward, questions will be asked anew about why Gricar did not pursue charges against him 13 years ago.
A small but strident minority believes Gricar did not want to tackle a case that involved a hometown icon.
Others who knew and worked with Gricar say he was a meticulous, independent and tough-minded prosecutor who was unbowed by Penn State, its football program and political pressure in general.

I certainly understand your intense disgust!
But I saw yesterday a group of students who were wearing ribbons or buttons in defense of the victims. Some of them were young men. I was impressed. Imagine my horror this morning when finding out young people rioted over this firing.
