That's the kind of crap that really pisses me off. Why is it, "Iraq war veteran"? "Scott Olsen" wasn't enough? It had to be "Iraq war veteran"? I get so tired of commie libs always exploiting the military. Are we sure that he is even a "war veteran"? I heard someone say that, although there are very few Navy SEALS, the bars all over America are packed with them on Friday and Saturday nights. That is so true.

When I was a veteran’s career counselor at the unemployment office in the 1980’s and 90’s, I had a guy come in with a cane. He sat down and gave me a half hour long cock & bull story about being a SEAL officer in Vietnam, being captured by the North Vietnamese and shipped off to the Soviet Union. After he left, I called the Navy people in California. After they got done rolling around the floor laughing, they told me no SEAL had ever been taken POW. The next time the feather merchant came in, I asked him, point-blank “are you even a real veteran?” at which he ran away, cane and all.
As someone who has never served, to my great regret, it’s been my experience in knowing those veterans who have served and who have survived combat, from my late-grandfather, a WW1 vet and from every war right up to and including the current one(s). Never, and I mean NEVER, have I ever seen or heard of anyone of them mouthing off in a bar room on a Saturday night about how they ‘’won the war’’. To a man, and they were all men, they were to a man the most humble, quiet and dignified of people I’ve ever met.
