It's official, Michelle Obama's new book has a title, American Grown: How the White House Kitchen Garden Inspires Families, Schools and Communities.
USA Today - The benefits of locally grown food and healthy-eating habits will be highlighted in first lady Michelle Obama's upcoming book about the kitchen garden she created on the South Lawn of the White House.
The book ... was announced today by the Crown Publishing Group. The book will be an illustrated four-color hardcover and will include seasonal photographs of the White House garden as well as of other community and school gardens around the country.
It is set to be published next April. An enhanced e-book edition will also be published.
My prediction for the book's sequel: American Grown 2: Ten Ways to Survive in an Impoverished Village will continue the narrative and advocate a socialized state where McDonalds will be extinct and Americans will reside in Maoist-style villages where people will survive only by cultivating "healthy" crops.
Indeed, that would be one way to fight childhood obesity.

I have a friend that works at USD Agriculture. Said that the nights before the local school kids would go the the White House garden to help the first lady pick vegetables, they had a team out of Beltsville, MD take vegetables and relocate them to the White house for the kid’s photo op.

I’m going to buy this book for my mother. She was fascinated that you could plant a garden in late January and be eating nice veggies in March.
