The official story of the rebels is that Daffy was caught in the crossfire with Daffy supporters . Riiiiiiight!

I was thinking the same thing... if you told me in the 80s I’d be defending Gaddafi someday I’d have laughed at you
But more than him personally, I only care about US interests, little more- and imho we had Gaddafi tamed nicely
More problems now, and we have to pay for the transition to an Islamic republic, great

The radicals over there know that Obama is killing Muslim leaders just to: 1. save his own job 2. He wants the Muslim Brotherhood to be in charge of those countries.
How many have been assassinated under his watch?
What makes Obama think they won't go on a jihad and send someone here to do the same thing?
This scares me. While I don't like anything Obama has done since taking office, I want him sent packing from losing the election or being impeached.
If even a small group of those barbarians decided to pay him and this country back for our interference in there world, no SS is going to be able to stop them.
Obama and Hillary have opened a can of worms and it will be hard to replace that lid.

Obama mission accomplished: Chaos, spread of Islamic terrorism, transfer of Libyan weapons across Egypt to the Gaza strip, expansion of the nascent Greater Caliphate, preparation for the Final attack on Israel.

And your point is?
A harsh dose of reality here folks.
Islam has never ever experienced any of the cultural moderation that Christianity experienced during the Renaissance, Reformation, and Counter-Refrormation movements. It is just as violent a religion and supporting culture as Christianity was in the 11th through 14th centuries.
As such, the death and mutilation of Gaddafi was to be expected. Husain's capture and trial were American and American backed operations. If the average Iraqi had captured him we would have never known about it.
American jurisprudence stops at the water's edge unless there American troops present. Do I like this fact? Not really. But, I have seen the cruelty that abounds in this world and recognize that my feelings will not change things outside the US.

We didnt go on an orgy of killing involving desecration of corpses following WWII, we practiced restraint and remained civilized.
The key word there is "after", right?
Because it was a very different story "during". Especially in the Pacific against the Japanese.
I'm not saying that to be judgmental - war is brutal (and the Pacific war especially so) and people exposed to its brutality, especially over long periods, understandably become detached and numb to it. The Libyan rebels had suffered for generations under Qaddafi's oppressive and violent rule, and some measure of leeway should be granted to them. I'd as much fault them for behaving this way towards his corpse as I would to the US Marines on Guadalcanal who took to displaying severed Japanese heads on tanks.

OK Read it. According to wikipedia, which I regard as unsubstantiated information, the woman is one of his many mistresses.

Uh, yea, *following* WWII.
During WWII? That’s a wholly different story.
During Korea? Again, a wholly different story.
During Vietnam? Different story again.
But following? There we’ve been a model of restraint... as opposed to the actions of (eg) the Russians following the fall of Berlin...

Only Americans are (in the majority) naive enough to think that other nations will follow our example in revolutions.
The abundance of evidence in the world is that the dominate “revolution model” is that of the French.
We’re the exception, not the rule.
