Yes, and in both cases they truly see themselves as individuals. Either individuals who want more of other people's money for their own individual wallets (the bulk of leftists), or those who want to put themselves as the lead individual above the collective, with supreme power. There is, in truth, no such thing as socialism. There is only covetousness and megalomania.
