One of the ‘Occupy’ crowd stated that we have to decide whether we want to live ‘isolated’ or as a collective. This is the fundamental divide between the left and the rest of us. We don’t want to live as a ‘collective’. We don’t want to be the ‘Borg’. We value individuality and self determinism. Isolationism and individuality are not even remotely the same things.

Further, their view of a ‘collective’ is not voluntary. It’s very much like the Borg - “You will be assimilated.” That is not in any way consistent with individual freedom, which is the bedrock of America.

I am so sick of that stupid "road" argument. Producers had to bring forth the oil for the asphalt, the iron for the bulldozers, the brains to build the road and the full bellies to fuel the workers.

The government demands some of all that and then the collective takes credit.

Works well for the looters and the moochers but not for the producers.
