ok put down the bong....Go and read the Cain’s web page on 9-9-9, it’s a transitional plan. It’s Phase 1 it provides the funding and the momentum to get to Phase 2 a national consumption (sales) tax. Almost all free market economists say that a national sales tax is the best way to raise revenue in a free market society. For one thing its fair everyone has some skin in the game. Also it encourages savings (i.e., capital formation) it removes the double and sometimes triple taxiation that occurs in our present system. It reduces the hidden federal taxes that are in the production of goods and services. This should be reflecteed in price reductions. Price reductions, a future of greater capital accumulations should spur investment and be a huge boost to the economy. Can we break this by spending too much? Of course! Are entitlements still out of control? Of course! Is it a panacea to everything ? Well no, but this Hodge Podge corrupt present system only benefits politicians and other rent seekers.
"Bong?" I didn't hear anything about any "bong." Or are you trying to advance some kind of feeble argument by ridiculing the poster? Frankly, I can see, without benefit of any "bong," much to dislike here. The sponsors are a who's who of RINOS, the kind that have seen us crash into the reefs.
PS. Mark me down with the opponents of a National Sales Tax. I worked my ass off for years and years, paying in to an income tax. Now that I am getting close to a break in that tax by virtue of retiring, Cain wants to create a brand new tax to hit my purchases (with my already heavily taxed savings) in my golden years?
New taxes must be resisted and stopped, not embraced.
