Fail Safe is a great movie, although Dr. Strangelove is probably my favorite hysterical, Cold War era fantasy to come from Hollywood.

Dr. Strangelove is probably the best - and comes in at a neat 90 minutes.
I just screened the great movie The Manchurian Candidate. Paranoid politics writ large. Superlative performances by Frank Sinatra, Angela Lansbury and the late, lamented Laurence Harvey.
