The American Revolution and 1776 are covered in the 1st grade for the slow kids and in kindergarten for the regular kids.

How could he go 16th century for the American Revolution?

For some reason I always have a glitch when it comes to people talking about a century. If someone says “16th Century” it takes my brain a second to think “okay, 16th century means it is really dates like 1560, etc. So it is for the hundred years BEFORE the “16”).

Perhaps Perry did the same thing - but he got confused and thought “dates in the 1700’s like 1776”? Not trying to make excuses for the guy - just wondering.

Of course, like I tell my kids all the time when it comes to helping them with their home work - I’m an idiot.

I came on this post because I wanted to see how many Republicans on FR would trash Perry for this. I wanted to see how disgustingly low they would go.

Perry is one of the good guys, he may not be your candidate but I rallied around Palin all the time when she misspoke and was never a supporter but she was one of the good guys.

Freeper Perry haters have sunk to the bottom of the barrel.

He really has no excuse for not knowing but being raised in this country how can he not know. Since he is over 50, I think it was brain freeze. That is not a desired presidential quality but I'll take that over the Muslim communist we have now.
