Huntsman and Bachmann Display A Lack Of Class And An Immaturity
Flopping Aces ^ | 10-12-11 | Skookum

Posted on 10/12/2011 10:04:05 AM PDT by Starman417

Using techniques perfected by the pseudo-intellectuals of the Left and described in Alynsky's "Rules For Radicals", both Huntsman and Bachman displayed why they are unworthy to carry the standard of the GOP. Having little of substance to offer, both Huntsman and Bachmann used juvenile techniques from the schoolyard to isolate and ridicule the taxation plan of Herman Cain.

There are few Americans who don't consider our tax laws to be unwieldy to the point of being unusable. With kleptocrats like Charlie Rangel continuously writing tax laws to benefit those who own him, our taxes have become a national disgrace and yet, there is only one candidate with a plan to replace the system. Herman Cain wants to scrap the whole corrupt system and start over with a new and simpler plan he calls the 9 9 9 Plan. It is a novel concept employing simplicity that would allow businesses to streamline their accounting so as not to budget a huge portion of their revenue to conforming to the tax codes. It would also prevent corrupt incompetents like Rangel from rewriting the tax code every year to benefit those corporations who funnel the largest amounts of money to his campaign funds and to his relatives.

No one who has the slightest pretensions of honesty or integrity would fail to agree that the tax code needs a complete overhaul or a complete new system. Yet, when confronted with a bold new plan, those candidates that appear to be the least qualified and who are being ignored by the voting public sense the opportunity to attack. If they were armed with facts and knowledge to debate the issue sensibly, they wouldn't be sucking the hind teat on a sour hog called ignorance; instead, they launch into an attack that has made them seem petty and intellectually unqualified to compete at this level. Politicians who hurl silly and meaningless insults are a dime a dozen in Washington; Republican voters are seeking a candidate with the debating skills to eviscerate Obama the Affirmative Action pseudo-intellectual on the debating stage, Bachman and Huntsman have proven beyond a doubt they are not up to that task.

Huntsman, with obvious condescension toward Cain, whom he seems to consider a mere underling upstart, far removed from the upper societal crust of the nouveau riche of country club Republican Elites, the haven of true RINOs, said he thought the 9 9 9 plan represented the price of a pizza. Oh, how soon Huntsman forgets that his daddy made his fortune designing the cardboard box to house the Big Mac. Now, we see why he would consider a man who was a self-made man from the pizza industry a lesser being worthy of contempt; after all, Huntsman inherited his money, a mark of distinction among country club Republicans. Perhaps that is why the fiscal conservatives of the Republican Party despise these RINOs and their visions of Elitism.

Why?

Oh, that’s right. You never reply to threads.

Huntsman is a RINO without a doubt but only a moron would consider Bachmann to be one regardless of whether they like her as a candidate.

Bachman made some very good points about the 999 plan but spoiled them when she made her goofy 666 reference.

Bachmann was GREAT last night....

TUMULTY: Congresswoman Bachmann, three years after the financial meltdown, Main Street continues to suffer. People have lost their jobs, they've lost their homes, they've lost their faith in the future. But Wall Street is thriving. The banks not only got bailed out by the government, they have made huge profits, they've paid themselves huge bonuses.

Do you think it's right that no Wall Street executives have gone to jail for the damage they did to the economy?

BACHMANN: I think if you look at the problem with the economic meltdown, you can trace it right back to the federal government, because it was the federal government that demanded that banks and mortgage companies lower platinum level lending standards to new lows.

TUMULTY: But the federal government has also deregulated them.

BACHMANN: It was the federal government that pushed the subprime loans. It was the federal government that pushed the Community Reinvestment Act. It was Congressman Barney Frank and also Senator Chris Dodd that continued to push government-directed housing goals.

They pushed the banks to meet these rules. And if banks failed to meet those rules, then the federal government said we won't let you merge, we won't let you grow.

There's a real problem, and it began with the federal government, and it began with Freddie and Fannie. If you look at these secondary mortgage companies which the federal government is essentially backing 100 percent, they put American mortgages in a very difficult place.

We had artificially low interest rates, Freddie and Fannie were the center of the universe on the mortgage meltdown, and we had lending standards lowered for the first time in American history. The fault goes back to the federal government, and that's what's wrong with Dodd- Frank.

Dodd-Frank institutionalized all of these problems that were put into effect by the federal government. That's why I introduced the bill to repeal Dodd-Frank. It's the Jobs and Housing Destruction Act.

I don’t really care about the American Idol crap. I care about the ideas and like it or not, Bachmann has some of the best out there.

My ideal candidate would be a cross between Cain and Bachmann.

I think Michele was doing her best imitation of Christine O’Donnel with her 666 comment...

I'll always appreciate Bachmann's impact on this race, it won't matter which candidate I support.

She's done more to pull these candidates rightward than any other individual. I wish she had a shot at the nomination.

Even Herman would admit that the price of a pizza remark was funny. And Lord help us if we actually listen to a tax lawyer who knows what the hell she is talking about. My guess is Michelle also knows a lot more about the federal tax code than Herman. She may well wind up as the VP nominee.

Is the chance of floppingaces being right as likely as flopping aces?

Not only did she perform very well but looked great. She Newt and Santorum showed their expertise in the technology of government.

As much as I hate to say it Mitt did very well. Cain did well too. Perry still sucked.

You know who was the stupidest idiot of the night? That reporterette who didn't know what a "hypothetical" was.

Romney kept trying to explain to her that a coming collapse of the entire economic system of Europe was a hypothetical, and she kept insisting that it wasn't a hypothetical concept because it could actually happen.

Even if one thinks its very likely to happen, its still a hypothetical until it does. I think she thought "hypothetical" meant impossible or something.

I’ve seen a lot of bashing of Bachmann that seems to overlook the fact that she’s probably the single smartest woman in DC at this point.

A few weeks back FReepers were bashing her for repeating what a tabloid said about Cuba and terrorism (according to Huffpo). What they didn’t bother to acknowledge is the fact that she is a member of the select committee on intelligence and may actually know what she’s talking about.

Just a quick rundown of her ideas on job creation.

Classy? I don't like Huntsman either, but when you're at the front of the pack you have to expect that everyone back in the pack is aiming where they get the clearest shot; that would be Herman.

I agree with you about Bachmann. She has had the guts to say what others will not say.

She has done it and it has hurt her, but we need her in there.

Michele argues as a Congressman does in Congress. That is why she comes off abrasive to some.

Truth is the woman has guts.

Bachmann is a tax lawyer.

Has anyone really stopped to think about that? Our tax system is so complicated we need not just accountants, but lawyers?

And this is the system every other candidate is supporting?

It wasn’t American Idol crap. It was actually very creepy, the way she did it. She’s not ready for the National stage and the more I see her the more flaky she appears. And I say this as someone who admired her a lot before she got in this race and got so much exposure. Goes to show that not all publicity is good publicity.

Yea, I expected her to say that he would force poor little girls to get 999 stamped on their forehead.

There really is a lot to like about Bachmann, but she can’t help going one step too far. For every person that laughed at the joke, it reminded someone that Bachmann is a pretty radically right wing evangelical even by right wing evangelical standards.
