We are doomed. Charles Cook at National Review caught up with one of the Occupy Wall Street protesters and the result is both comic and depressing
or as Cook puts it, That being that if there is something someone doesnt like about their life, someone else somewhere should change it. And if they dont, well then, the American Dream is dead
No self accountability whatsoever! They want everyone else to work and pay the bills so they don't have to!!
That’s one big “Be careful what you wish for...”
It's logical if they want to work anywhere, the have to get IN COLLEGE the education and skills they DID NOT get in public school.
When unions also dummy down and invalidate the College curriculum, which they are well on the way to doing, who knows where we go from there?
Isn’t it ironic: these spoiled, greedy, mush-for-brains, Obama supporting, professional demonstrators want the so-called greedy rich to pay for their college partying. They are well on their way to being good welfare recipients.
Thanks for providing this hot link. I listened to this mommy’s boy ask for HIS free lunch. He appeared to be well-educated, well-fed, and well-taught according to the work values of his parents. He is his parents responsibility, not our responsibility.
BTW, what employer will step forward to ask this young man to do work for his company? None would from the 1930’s when men really looked for work, and not “jobs.”
Now in the 20-teens, “gimme-gimmie-gimme” men will need to build their own cardboard camps. The real men will look for work.
The irony of these people protesting againt “greed” has no words!
Liberals think that wanting to EARN money and then KEEP SOME of it is greedy.
But, Liberals think, demanding what other people have earned is not greedy.
Occupy Wall Street is the personification of naked greed: the thuggish, bottomless demand for more free stuff.
They will say, no, we are demanding “jobs.” But real jobs cannot be the subject of “demands.” Real jobs (not breaking/replacing windows, pointlessly painting rocks) are not trinkets that can be manufactured and then passed out to the masses like candy.
Demanding that jobs be handed out to everyone is sort of like demanding that “health” be handed out to everyone. It can’t happen. All that can be done is that society structures itself so that it facilitates the natural processes that create jobs and health for those willing to cooperate with those natural processes.
I think one of the most important responses we can make to Occupy Wall Street and similiar is to point out that it is fueled by GREED.
This is what Herman Cain meant when he said OWS is a bunch of jealous people who simply want someone else’s Cadillac.
Demanding other people's stuff is the ultimate GREED and that's all Occupy Wall Street is about.
This seriously needs to be thrown back in their faces every time they launch into one of their demands. They need to be told plainly, firmly and over and over again: You are greedy pigs, demanding what others have worked for and demanding that others be indentured servants so your greedy demands can be met.
You are absolutely correct, JAG! The leeches, who live off the fruit of the enslaved taxpayer, have the nerve to call the productive taxpayer greedy for the crime of wanting to keep what THEY earned. This is what 3 generations of Johnson’s “Great Society” have brought to us.
It’s time to cut these people off - let them earn their keep or starve. Or, die trying to steal from the earners.
i agree GREED AND ENVY. I find liberals for the most part envy other people where as I never understood this feeling, I feel good for people. If they have something I like I will work hard to earn it.
Even if true, let’s make this simple: all of Occupy Wall Street’s demands are nothing but PURE GREED.
No matter what they blather on about, the 53% should simply shout back that these people are greedy pigs.
Think about it: the OWS might say it’s greedy for rich people to want to keep more of their money that they EARNED.
But OWS is demanding ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of what they want FOR FREE.
That completely blows away their dumb definition of greed! They don’t want to have to earn a penny of it — they just want to get free stuff!
I am so sick of this class warfare against the rich because they want to keep SOME of what they have EARNED, all the while those to whom their money goes are 100 times more greedy because they do NOTHING except hold their hands out and make ever-increasing demands.
It’s Occupy Wall Street, not Wall Street, that is demonstrating PURE GREED here.
Bring back the Draft! Bring back Press Gangs! All these young people ought to be in uniform and sent out to fight Obama’s Wars.
Who are the truly greedy here?
Those who EARN their money and simply want to KEEP SOME of it?
Or those who do nothing except DEMAND FREE STUFF?
I say we should meet every demand they make with the incisive retort: YOU ARE GREEDY.
The response to Occupy Wall Street ought to be the unending chant of “You are the greedy ones.”
Please join me in helping to make the counter-response to these people very loud and simple: YOU ARE THE GREEDY PIGS!
It’s obvious, but it hasn’t been said clearly yet.
No need to get involved in all their various ways of demanding free stuff (free college, free transportation, whatever).
Let’s just pushback against it all (wherever we are talking on the internet, etc.) for what it is: PURE GREED.
These people don’t want jobs - just the paycheck.
Renounce your citizenship, move to Mexico and slip back into Texas or Kalifornia and your free college dream comes true.
Also, it is immoral to expect taxpayers to support you and in a life style that taxpayers find morally unconscionalbe and cannot afford for thenselves ...even IF they approved.
That is the same thing as theft. Only... with the government demanding more and more taxes for these entitlements, it is ‘institutionalized theft'! So we now have an immoral, tyrannical government AND we are expected to sit still for even MORE of their theft!!!!
I want a new Cadillac and a full length fur coat...can I just go out and buy them and tell the seller ‘just send the bill to my neighbor’????? What these OWS demonstrators demand is just as ridiculous!!!
That is pure greed, and it should be called out as such.
Also, as I posted upthread, they’re pretty stupid to think that “jobs” can be demanded.
Real jobs cannot be created out of thin air and then handed out on an equal basis like jellybeans. A “demand” for “jobs” is, as you say, simply a demand for a “paycheck” — not even a paycheck, just a check.
So this “we want jobs” crappola is just a more sophisticated way, media-wise, to try to evoke sympathy for their greedy demands for more FREE STUFF.
Occupy Wall Street, YOU are the purely greedy ones! You protest against those who want to keep some of what they have EARNED, yet you demand free stuff without having earned anything.
You are exactly right.
Some of these kids are probably so deluded that they really don’t understand that somebody, somewhere, has to WORK to pay for all the “free” stuff they are demanding. Others do, and they really are greedy pigs who need to be told NO.
What they should be protesting is the loss of their freedom due to an expanding and increasingly corrupt federal government. They should be protesting trillions in subsidies, tax breaks, and bailouts to the politically connected (cronyism). They should be protesting the regulations that will keep them unemployed by driving small companies out of business and making it too expensive and financially risky for businesses to hire more people. They should be protesting Congress and the President spending them into a lifetime of poverty due to an economy-crushing national debt.
