...LYNN SHERR: Do you feel as if the other candidates have been ganging up on in the debates?
RICK PERRY:When you come into the fray and youre leading in the polls, youre going to get attacked by everyone. I get it. Im a big boy, and I know how to play that game.
Your critics say youre not electable...
Well, I disregard that. Americans are looking for somebody to stand up and tell them the truth, and I have a record to back it up. Ultimately, if I can explain my heart, my jobs record, and my philosophy to Americans, Im pretty confident that Ill win.
Youre a very successful fund-raiser....The word thats been applied to you is cronyism....
Thats the same old, tired criticism which comes when people dont want to talk about the real issues, like how do we create jobs......"Decisions in Texas are generally legislative, with the lieutenant governor, speaker, and governor making them together. There were no unilateral decisions from my office dealing with those issues. And Ill go back to my record. Ive been elected three times as governor. The people obviously have confidence in me.
Your wife, Anita Perry,....
Shes very smart and loyal. Shes not predisposed to be a public figure since she saw how her father, a small-town doctor, had to be shared with all these other people. Shes also a great patriot.
Some of our recent presidents have admitted to experimenting with drugs...
No, maam. Not unless you call caffeine a drug. Or cold beer or whiskey.....

I believe Obama knows he can’t win on his record. So he is now assembling the troops so that the election will come down to class warfare.
Who is best to fight them in this game? In this climate, people are hating rich people and think they are the reason they have nothing.
Cain is now on record as insuling those poor souls without jobs and telling them its their own fault.
Of course it sounds good when blowing smoke but he wouldn’t stand a chance in the class warfare battle
Your list of problems was created by progressives -- over regulation, lawsuits, EPA, czars, super committees, atomic options, etc to overrule the people and their representatives to: ensure an equal-balanced playing field for the citizens and for our society -- redistribution to the workers -- this is not free market capitalism. From his own take, Cain has the same philosophical core -- whether you want to admit it or not.
Not only that, but it is telling that Cain has risen so far without a lot of funding and without the name recognition that Perry has as a long-standing governor of a large state.
I am still not sold on Cain, but it is amusing to watch the impotent attacks on Cain by the Perry supporters at FR. The further Perry sinks, the more shrill and absurd their attacks on Cain get.
All anyone has to do is to listen to Cain's comments.
Period.
LINK is available on the thread.
I'm losing track of how many times I have asked for that and you have responded with everything except an explanation.
That is not Cains position and anyone who doesnt have a blind obsession with open borders Perry knows that. Your projection of untrue motivation onto Cain is rather transparent.
When Cain was dealt the race-card, put it in his hand and then played it to sweeten his winnings, that's when I started looking closely at him, his record and his association with Mitt.
The ‘cronyism’ charge comes from people who don’t want to talk about issues and how to create jobs?
The statists believe in a powerful, activist central government that advances a radical secular agenda in the name of compassion. They hide behind misguided notions of empathy and push token talking points about fighting for the little guy, all the while empowering the federal government to coercively and blatantly undermine state-, local-, and self-governance. p.13
Republicans often arent on the right page - indeed, some arent even in the right chapter. But most are in the right book. Most Democrats today, on the other hand, cant even find the library. P. 14
Republicans, in general believe in low taxes, low regulation, less spending, free-market health care, constitutionalist judges, protecting innocent life, enforcing our laws and our borders, peace through strength, empowering the states, and generally advocating principles closer to limited government than not. p. 14
The truth is, I dont care what party the statist is in. The fact of the matter is, it is the statist, and those who support or enable him, who is the problem. For too long he has undermined this country by empowering the national government at the expense of liberty. An America defined by the statist in Washington is an America doomed to fail. p. 15

Your unreasoned opposition to Gov. Perry and smear tactics against him are well known. You changed candidates but kept your talking points w/o missing a beat.
Yeah, sure, CW. More like once Cain passed Perry in the polls is when you started attacking him.
STILL waiting, CW. How hard is it to simply put up a paragraph or two of your own writing to support the opinion you are putting forth?
And just who did you think my candidates were or are? So far I have only posted words or positions stated by candidates and have not to date endorsed any one candidate. I surely dont support any candidate at this point.
I’m not playing your game.
Get over it.
The video interview with Cain is so convoluted and nutty, anyone who attempts to make “a few paragraphs” about it will appear ????? — let them listen to the man.
Bye.
Since the 50's our presidential candidates have been asked the question, and I paraphrase, " if nuclear attack was imminent, would you press "The" button?" I would like that question asked again of those who would be president.

To contrast, here’s Governor Perry’s statement on the role of government:
Our cause is simple: to restore the balance of power intended by our Founders but forsaken by secular progressives determined to say what government will do for the people rather than allowing people to do what they can do for themselves. Our goal is to take power away from Washington and instead empower states, communities, and individuals, because Americas future greatness is inextricably intertwined with states pushing back. (p.16)

So it's a game for me to ask you to explain your position? That's funny, CW.
I leave it to the other posters on this thread to decide what your steadfast refusal to support your own talking point means.
LOL
Yes they will. And they’ll be rolling their eyes, and throwing up their hands like John Stossel did at the end of the interview with Herman Cain — saying maybe the next person could make more sense of it.
I guess that is what passes for logic in your Perry spinner mind.
