The in-state tuition for children of illegal immigrants passed in 2001 by 95% of the Texas legislature and Perry has been elected governor three times since. It is clear to me that Texans are smart enough to know the priorities and importance of the issues and the instate tuition for children of illegal immigrant is a deal breaker for them. They many not like it but they are smart enough to vote on the balance of someone stand on a host of issues and they voted for Perry three times. I hope that the Republican primaries voters are that smart or else they going to get Romney as the nominee.

On the other hand, a Perry supporter stated just the other day:
[Perry] threw the mexicans a “bone” so to speak by doing something
that probably only helps less than 1/10 of 1 % of the best academic
achievers. He would never have become governor here in Texas if he
had dissed all the Mexican voters all the time. People who don’t think
that is true don’t know Texas politics. There are a lot of Mexicans here
that are native born and do vote conservative.

I see at least one Perry voter who supports pandering as the method to advance Tricky Rick's political career. No thanks.
