Let me see if I got what you are saying: Cain isn’t responsible for what he said on national TV, but Perry is responsible for what someone wrote on a rock on somebody elses ranch where he used to hunt?

You can mark number 5 off your list. He is for the fence, in high traffic areas. Boots on the ground everywhere. Drones in the air everywhere. All of which every candidate to my knowledge has said they are for.

And Cain should have not commented on something he obviously knew nothing about.

And Cain should have not commented on something he obviously knew nothing about.

That's the charitable view. His actual words suggest he at least had been told about the story ahead of time...

“For him to leave it there as long as he did before I hear that they finally painted over it is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country,” Cain said.

He is only for using fence in “strategic” parts of “urban” areas.

So he is not even for fencing all urban areas, only for what he deems the “strategic” part of those urban areas.

Basically, a joke.

You have to remember that at the time Perry was a registered Democrat and had not seen the error of his ways. N****head may not have bothered him then as much as it obviously did later on.

Perry should have had the rock removed the second he saw it. Just more evidence of unsound judgement from Perry.

You don't know what a deer lease is do you? It a fee that hunters pay to land owners to let them hunt on their land. That's it, that is the connection Perry has to the land. The fact that he was so offended by graffiti he saw on the land that over 30 years ago, when he was not Governor of the State of Texas, he had his dad go buy paint, paint over the graffiti on the rock and turn it over so he didn't have to look at it says more about his character than anything this stupid story could ever hope to say about him.

He doesn't vacation there, he doesn't develop the land, he hunts on it once or twice a year if he's lucky enough to find the time.

Look, I love Perry’s position on a lot of issues, on a lot of things he really IS a conservative.

But the illegals thing is a deal-breaker.

Imagine a sickly patient on the verge of death [Uncle Sam] interviewing prospective doctors.

Into to the room comes Dr. Perry.

Dr. Perry with a big smile says, “I’ve got just the program to get you back to health. I’m going to give you a regimen of antibiotics [cutting government spending and returning powers to the states] and a super-nutritious plan of food and vitamins [cutting taxes and government regulation and reforming entitlements].

The patient now sits up and listens hopefully as Dr. Perry continues:

“And then I’m going to cut off your head [legalizing tens of millions of illegals]. Oh wait, I’m not going to call it that [won’t call it amnesty], so let’s just call it separating your head from your body.”

At that point, Uncle Sam is saying to himself in horror, it doesn’t matter that he has this great medicine and nutrition plan, he is going to kill me!

I don’t see the joke. I believe that someone who has dealt with the border and drug cartels on a daily basis for 11 years, has visited the border many times, petitioned the feds for help many times (with no response), dispatched Texas Rangers to the border because the feds do nothing, knows that a fence along every mile would take more then my children’s life time to build, knows the amount of boots on the ground he needs to secure, has a back up plan for boots on the ground while the feds are training others etc. just might have an idea where those pressure points are in order to build a fence in “strategic” areas.

Perry has spent hundreds of million of state dollars on border security-Texas Rangers. He wants boots on the ground, drones in the air and fencing in urban areas.

And he's asked the federal government to do their sworn duty to protect and defend the international border. Crickets.

Perry wants the border SEALED.

Perry does not believe in amnesty.

But then you knew all that.

I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. He made a huge mistake which leaves me leery. We can’t have another president who is going to play this game, be they black or white.

How black people could find something insensitive they nothing about until the Compost informed them is beyond me. I’m tired of the insensitivity garbage anyway.

Maybe Perry should bring the rock forward, bow at the feet of the good Rev. Al and beg his forgiveness. It seems that’s what some people around here want him to do.

Since this flies in the face of Rick Perry's position, please give me a link to where you found your misinformation.

You were correct to post Cain’s words he uttered yesterday, which show he isn’t being truthful when today he denies saying what he said.

I don’t understand this post from you.

First, in the early ‘80s I don’t think Perry was in politics. If so, he was brand new at it. Have to look up the exact date. But he was only a state legislator in ‘88 when he picked Gore to support, and that was his first elective office. Later he was elected state Ag Commissioner, still later Lt. Gov., then Governor over 10 years.

You called him a professional politician at the time of this story.

We don’t know what they knew about a name for the property they were planning to hunt on. We have no knowledge of that and yet you assume someone said to them that the name of it was .......... and imply they should have rejected the land as a hunting site.

You lost me.

None of which, though, has anything to do with the fact that they obscured the word, over time in more ways than one, and it wasn’t even their property. Speaks well of them. But not according to Mr. Cain, yesterday.

Apparently they wanted to hunt in that location. That was the focus. Anything else, of what they knew before they went there to start hunting, is useless to imagine.

And to think of the professional politician today being the same back before he was actually a professional politician is way out of phase.

“Perry does not believe in amnesty.”

IN HIS OWN WORDS Perry is for legalizing the illegals.

“That’s why I support a guest worker program that takes undocumented workers off the black market and legitimizes their economic contributions without providing them citizenship status.”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2775603/posts

When he says “legitimizing their economic contributions” he can only be talking about ILLEGALS HERE NOW.

Amnesty does not merely mean making someone a citizen. It means not deporting them and allowing them to legally live here and raise their families here even though they broke our laws.

I just now went and googled for the year he was elected to the Texas House. 1984.

Before that, he had not been in politics but was involved still with Cotton farming along with his dad.

I see your points.

My post was just saying that a piece of land called "Niggerhead" is so potentially explosive that if Perry wanted a career in politics he should have not touched that lease with the proverbial ten foot pole.

There are millions of acres of hunting land in Texas. Leave it to Rick Perry to lease the one called "Niggerhead".

I do NOT think Perry is racist.

I DO think Rick Perry is remarkably dumb and has no ability whatsoever to calculate the future ramifications of his actions.

“the Perrybots really are this stupid.”

Really? A good cross-section of American Payriots are just stupid. They don’t carry a different opinion or background in life, they’re just stupid. Over on DU, they call everyone that has a different thought ‘stupid.’ Sound familiar?

I think Palin, Cain or Perry are just fine to kick this idiot out of my White House. I hope that just makes me 1/3 stupid.

You mean like Reagan did, not deport them and allow them to become citizens, by the millions?

There might be something short of what Reagan did that might be considered, but after people pay a penalty for illegal entry. Deporting them all or even a fair portion isn’t going to be an answer. That won’t happen if your dream candidate gets in, no matter who that might be.

If Perry believes that amnesty means what Reagan did, and he has a different approach, he would call it something other than amnesty.

Makes sense to me.

I have found people have different understandings of the word amnesty.

They have different thoughts and ideas and possible plans on dealing with the issue of illegal immigration.

Others just sit on the side and shoot them down with words and definitions of words.

You might not agree with Reagan on complete, utter, total amnesty, but has Reagan always received the same treatment from you as Rick Perry? If so, at least you would be consistent.

Which is more than I can say of others, who praise Reagan in their taglines while calling Perry every ugly name in the book and basically the devil himself, over this issue.
