The Mystery Of The Ron Paul Freakshow
Absolutely NonPaul ^ | 10/3/11 | Alan Levy

Here's a trillion dollar deficit question: Where did Iran's Favorite Congress Critter, Ron Paul, get his army of followers ?

It's an important question to ask.

Bloggers can't criticize Paul without having a cross burned on their blog by the RuPaulista SS. (Erick Erickson's RedState has had to ban anyone who wasn't a member for more than six months for mentioning Paul in a post.) Conservative radio show hosts can't utter a peep about Mahmoud AmendinePaul without having his lines jammed up for the rest of the show.

I apologize for having to excerpt this. There’s a short video on this blog and you can’t post videos on FR.

As a rule, I don’t excerpt. For those who want to accuse me of being a blog pimp, please look at the following link first:

The world is made up of many different types of funny people.

Some of those funny people are really very simple minded. For them, it is much more accessible to find all kinds of faults with you, rather than a common enemy abroad. In this way it is you who are the real and only threat.

I agree, but I’m starting to think a lot of Ron Paul’s supporters are figments of our imagination.

The funny thing about many paultards is that they don’t want to listen to what he has to say about the role of religion or the limited role of government. They are just anti-war lefty kooks who want legalized drugs.

Exactly.

They’re neolibs. They’re anarchists. They’re Neo-Nazis. They’re Neo-Confederates. One thing the RuPaulista SS is NOT is Conservative.

Those are the living ones. I think like the spambots and the feds posing as posters better than them.

They really got ya, didn’t they?
Spamming and other such crap is likely as not, but how do you explain the actual BODIES that show up to all his events and vote in the “conventions”?
If you followed the adventures of the stormfront blimp, you know they have a significant social network all across the country. Much larger than one might think. And nearly all of them are virulently anti-Jew,and guess what YOU are.

I am not a Paul fan (understatement warning!), but he sure must have some dedicated supporters.

I was looking at some Ron Paul videos on youtube, and each one has a staggering amount of positive comments. Whether they are all from different individuals or not, there’s an awful lot of effort being made on his behalf there and elsewhere.

I’m a Jew and that’s not allowed in their world.

The actual bodies are not as large as tehy would have us believe. For all of this hoopla, Cut and Run Paul has zilch to show for it at the ballot box.

Something is radically wrong. Maybe my theory is wrong, but when there’s smoke, there’s fire.

I think the left uses paul to make it seem like the RIGHT is as insane as he is, I think that’s why they darn near spotlighted him in the first two debates. They want to scare Americans into believing that he represents the entire Conservative grassroots.
You’re a, gasp, JEW???? ROFL

Oh they love RuRu.

I throw up in my mouth each time I hear the words “Tea Party favorite Ron Paul”.

RuRu didn’t start the Tea Party. The Tea Party is a reaction to an out of control federal government.

Spambots, FRiend.

“Whether they are all from different individuals or not, there’s an awful lot of effort being made on his behalf there and elsewhere.”

Good question. Who and why ? I’ve given my theory. Maybe I’m right and maybe I’m wrong, but there is something radically wrong here.

The Ron Paul coalition is comprised of various factions none of which agree anything other than one sacred and often unspoken principle. All of these factions are antisemitic.

The core of his “Staff” and “Paid consultants” are from the far religious right: They are either Dominionists or Replacement Theology followers. These folks allow the large bulk of Objectivists, Randian, Libertarian, Atheists in their midst due to their loathing of Israel. The same is true for the Neo-Confederates among them.

No one is allowed into the inner circle of their operations if they do not profess this simple decree.

Beyond this however, one must realize that both Anti-war and Isolationism are in fact historically Republican positions. Minority positions mostly, but not traditionally Liberal ones. Even George W. Bush campaigned on “ending Clinton’s nation building overseas”.

Additionally are some long time true conservatives who are eating the rat poison because there is simply no other alternative and in their self deluded view, Ron Paul is simply the lessor evil among many other evils.

Lastly of course, are the remnants of every kook pet theory out there who need a home and a leader who will not ever say anything which may contradict their conspiracy theories. Coast to Coast AM has millions of listeners and Ron Paul has given these useful idiots all a place and a campaign to call home.

None of these factions have ever possessed more than 2-3% strength at any time in American History. But, a collectively, they do fully account for the 15% Ron Paul gets in the national polls.

But that 15% is a hard ceiling. He can never get above it. He cannot hold this coalition together and bring any other into it at the same time.

And aside from the 3-5% who are not otherwise insane, they would just stay home as usual if they did not have a campaign like this to join.

So, Ron Paul is a non factor. Don’t fight it. Don’t worry about it either. His message and tactics will eventually kill off his own followers, in time like Rat Poison. The truth is this: Rat Poison is 99.95% good food. With just enough poison to kill. Just like Ron Paul’s message.

"They’re neolibs."

Why don't you just accuse them all of being anti-semite homosexual sodomites, islamic jihadists, and communist?

It would make as much sense.

Neoliberals at least see some use for the free market system, but they want it highly taxed and regulated for the sake of the disadvantaged. The libertarians want none of that.

I see Paul quoting Al Qaeda misinformation and propaganda similar to this, and explaining why we should base foreign policy on it. I don't know which scares me more: A presidential candidate saying it, or voters buying it.

"November 2001, Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki of the Falls Church Mosque was busy answering questions for Washington Post readers on its website. Al-Awlaki did his part to assure WaPo readers that Islam was a religion of peace. "The greatest sin in Islam after associating other gods besides Allah is killing an innocent soul."

If it were once again 1988, I’d agree with you on ignoring Paul.

However, the 2012 election is far too important to let RuPaul run free and unchecked. The arrogant and lazy press will start associating Paul with the Tea Party and this will sink the Republican candidate, giving us another four years of Obama’s Reign of Incompetent Terror.
