Mittens gets Utah no matter who is in the race.

Yep. Just like last time. Artcore, what makes you think that the same won’t happen again?

Utah is the land of identity politics and, in this case, his Mormonism will win again. There is a very strong undercurrent of LDS trusting other LDS over ‘gentiles’ (all non-Mormons including Jews) and it showed strongly with Mitt.

2008 Utah Primary results Mitt Romney 264,956 89.5%

Just to remind you; the GOP primary field included McCain, Romney, Huckabee and Paul.

Are you seriously going to sit here and tell us that McCain, Huckabee, or Paul would've been a better choice than Romney (at least at the time)? McCain is a backstabbing RINO, Huckabee had a little Amnesty problem, and Paul is just plain nuts.

Hey I don't mind you bringing me statistics to back up your assertions, but it would be helpful if you'd cite more than just the State of Utah where Mittens got the majority of the vote. Consider the following examples of some States and Romney's placings in the GOP Primary:

Michigan = 1st
Alaska = 1st
Minnesota = 1st
Montana = 1st
Mass = 1st
Maine = 1st
Florida = 2nd
Arizona = 2nd
Illinois = 2nd

If you'd like, I could also give you the percentages, but you get the point. I'm no Romney fan, and I'm also not a member of the LDS faith, but your assertion that Utah practices identity politics is just tad unfair...don't you think? Using your logic, Michigan, Maine, Montana and the other states where Mittens placed first must also practice identity politics...right?

Funny, but the last time I checked, Michigan didn't have a very heavy influence of Mormons. Hmmm, come to think of it, my home state does have a heavy concentration of Catholics. Do they also practice identity politics?

Sounds like your biggest problem is the LDS faith...not Romney.

So it's OK for Mormons to vote for the liberal Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon, but unfair for a conservative Republican to vote against him? /sarcasm
