Sarah Churman, 29, was born deaf. Until recently, she had never heard the sound of her own voice. But thanks to a hearing implant, Churman was able to experience a miracle.
She says on her YouTube channel that shes worn hearing aids since she was two years old and has gotten by on reading lips. Churman goes on to explain the background behind her clear speech:
My whole life Ive been complimented on how well I speak. I dont really have an answer for you other than I have always had a passion for reading, grammar, and English. My hearing loss was/is considered severe to profound. Ive worked very hard to be able to interact and blend in.....only thing I can say is God is good.
The device shes received is not a hearing aid. Its implanted in the middle ear and picks up sound through the ear canal, minimizing background noise and acoustic feedback, according to Envoy Medical.
good for you! congrats
I give thanks to God for you and your gift of hearing. And it is a joy to see the reaction of the child.
Awesome. Thanx for sharing.
Congratulations.
The things we take for grantid....are miracles to others.
Congratulations! But how can you speak so well if you were born deaf?
You realize of course that you will now be excommunicated from the Sacred Order of Militant Deafies?
Then again, seeing as you can speak you were never a member of their little graying club in the first place...
You can leave comments directly for Sarah on YouTube. She is the one who received the successful hearing implant and posted the video of herself.
That is just too cool. Congrats!
bttt
Glad to see that good old American know-how is helping us but OBAMA and his bastards wanted to put a new tax on such medical devices.
It would have added anywhere from $200-300 on my defibrilator/pacemaker which cost between $20,000 and $30,000 a piece (depending on the model and medical needs).
This effort was beaten back but don’t count on Obie’s marxists from trying again. It might even be found somewhere in the Obamacare bill where there are dozens if not hundreds of hidden taxes.
Unless something is done on Nov. 6, 2012, medical innovations may be brought down to a crawl.
To the young lady, enjoy life!
Wonderful!
There is nothing like tears of joy!
Thank you for that! It made my day! :)
