Backyard barbecue bashes and offering up flat screen TVs and other prizes was attempted by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to try to get Saginaw health care employees to stay in the union. It didn't work.
By a more than 2-to-1 margin, workers at Saginaw's Luther Manor Nursing Home voted themselves out of the SEIU Healthcare union last week.

good...
Good for them!
Looks like they left one union (SEIU) and went to another (NUHW).
More like they voted themselves a pay raise.
This is huge!! It is not an easy thing to decertify a union!!!
More like they voted themselves a pay raise.
Why don’t they just send some thugs over and BEAT them into submission? That’s the SEIU way isn’t it?
This might be far from over.
Labor law is pretty complicated, I wouldn’t be suprised if the SEIU were to appeal the election and make a bid for another election.
This becomes more likely when you realize that SEIU’s tremendous growth over the past 25 years has largely come at the expense of other unions by horning in on their territory. Their staff knows all about this kind of thing.
Just like what is happening to them now.
Big Frilling Deal.
Sounds like the voted to leave one Corrupt union SEIU for Another corrupt union NUHW.
Only ONE voted for none union.
I'm not sure if they are worse than the UAW or NEA, but they are certainly in the same league.
SEIU is trying to do the same thing Barack Obama wants to do, Zahdeh said. They know that the MQC3 (Michigan Quality Community Care Council) is being dissolved. That means they'd lose about 48,000 members. So they're trying to change dues to a flat 2.5 percent. That's huge. For instance, it would change my dues from $39.45 a month to $130 a month. It's like Obama wanting to raise taxes on the rich instead of finding ways to cut spending.
They can Pull a Connecticut,The Gov.just signed an Executive order stating all Health Care workers are now in the SEIU Whether you like it or not. They are now State workers adding a Million dollars in Union dues to the Democrat Party
