If they did things would get VERY BAD quickly.......Elections(esp. National Elections) should only be suspended under the most dire situations! I fear that a National Emergency threat could allow Obama to look like a leader and suspend elections long enough to “Wag the Dog”.....

What could cause a “National Emergency” big enough to get elections suspended?

First off, Pres. Johnson already researched that one. The Constitution itself would have to be suspended, and that is ONLY done through a declaration of martial law. Johnson considered it only as a means to avoid riots he thought were going to happen due to the shootings of MLK and RFK and from Vietnam protests. As it turned out, cooler heads prevailed and we had an election.

In this case, it wouldn’t be to avoid riots, but a naked power grab meant to bring the country under complete control. As it is, any such move would be instantly seen for what it was and it would be stopped. What Barry the Boob and his cronies need is a ‘trigger’, something that frightens the populace so much that martial law would be welcomed.

What could do that?

We had elections for Congress during the civil war . Obama /RAT party want to suspend elections cause they would come out on the short end of the bargain = blood in the streets.

That having been said I also believe that this was a trial ballo9n by a faction in the national RAT party.
