Yeah much better to send US Soldiers or Yemeni in there for a fire fight to maybe get him out for trial.

You volunteering for that?

No thanks, I agree with the tactical decision made here.

Ron Paul is on a VERY short list of people I would never vote for, regardless of who was running against them. This is why. In my opinion, he would be more fatal to the country than the current White House resident.

Any minute now the left and their allies in the MSM will be screamig for Bush’s retroactive impeachment because he influenced the Prince to ignore the “rule of law”.

I’m beginning to think that it really was Paul on the SNL GOP debate skit and not someone spoofing him. LOL

That was SO FUNNY! That guy had Ron Paul down to a T. I was laughing out loud on that one.

Gen 9:6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”

I believe in the unalienable rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but I also believe in the right to punish murder.

Due process came from his own actions and statements, from the murder and mayhem he promoted and provoked. He declared war on America, instructed killers and praised killers.

Nevertheless, Yemen is claiming credit for the killing.

This will have long-term consequences we can’t even imagine, yet.

Absolutely.

Agree or disagree with Paul, the fact is that Obama has just set a huge new precedent for extrajudicial executions.

AND U.S. CITIZENS ARE NO LONGER EXECPTIONS.....

This will have long-term consequences we can’t even imagine, yet.

Wrong. By your logic General Washington set the precedent for extrajudicial executions when he ordered his troops to fire. After all, there were probably Tories in the Redcoat regiments - mustn't violate their rights by shooting them. Not without an indictment and a trial by jury.

I suppose most of this comes down to which position at which time in history is more effectively argued. Neither the Constitution nor the UCMJ condones summary executions for treason or espionage on or off a battlefield, but that doesn’t mean that it hasn’t happened or that it hasn’t been morally correct. It’s just rationalized (I’d say justified) under another label—war, whether declared or undeclared.

Secondly, is there no overt act (whether proved in court or simply as a matter of fact) that automatically invalidates U. S. citizenship? I agree that this is slippery-slope fodder, but wouldn’t a set of criteria for such invalidation serve moral concerns more effectively than an executive order?

Interesting subject for the old PBS Ethics series.

The constitution says American citizens have a right of due process through a trial. That includes the worst of the worst citizens who have become terrorists or who our govt claims are terrorists.

If that US citizen is in a foreign land fighting for the enemy in a war, then yes, he is nothing more than another enemy combatant.

Exactly!!! Remember people. Big Sis has labeled anyone who’s white, has guns, and doesn’t like our govt as terrorists! If Obama can take out an American citizen turned terrorists, who’s to say he won’t think it’s ok to take us out!

Think people!! Think!!!!!

If the government turns evil the evil government will do evil things, whether or not there are precedents for it. If the evil government uses drones to murder American citizens not making war on America the evil government will make up all sorts of justifications for its actions. It won't need precedents.

Romney isn’t the only “moderate” in the field. Everyone besides Ron Paul is. Hope that means Romney isn’t the inevitable nominee.

I agree. This is only one step away from putting a missle up an American citizen’s butt on American soil because the current regime declares them an enemy of the state. Let’s think this through, tea partiers. I’m no Paulbot.

An American Citizen must be afforded the rights due under the Constitution. An American citizen cannot be killed without due process. I know this opinion will not sit well with people on this thread. But if the government can deprive a citizen of their lives or properties without due process then they can deprive anyone of of their life for any reason the government sees fit. And this is VERY dangerous.

I’d say he got due process. When you’re a traitor that’s all you get.

Since even the surrender monkey knows he has no chance in hell of winning the Republican primary he is jockeying himself for a shot at the dim primary. His beliefs are much closer to them.
