So imagine that innocent looking 999 some day being 101010 or 121212 or even 303030. What's to prevent it? Absolutely nothing.

This is like the British VAT (value added tax). It was just raised to 20% from 17.5%. Up and up and up.

Exactly. And the only thing preventing its going higher is a ... politician's promise.

A VAT tax taxes every level of production. 9-9-9 taxes it only once at the point of sale. There is utterly NO comparison between the two.

First, the VAT tax is at every level of production, not just the end product

Second, the pain at the cash register is offset in Brittan with gov’t tax rebates and redistribution of the wealth. Cain’s plan doesn’t have that. There is no relief and people will pay attention. (This is a large part of why we’re in the mess we’re in.)

What prevents them raising it? A ballot. And they would not be able to hide it would they?

Ask the average person how much they paid in tac last year and they’ll say “nothing, I got some back!”. They never think about how big their “contribution was”, just that they got a “return”.

What is the social tax now? Over 12% (Your employer could give you that money, but he has to give that half of it to the government on your behalf.

9-9-9 makes sense. God asks for 10%!!!!!
