He told me that the dollar amount of the order was in the "five figures".

WOW, a full five figires! $20,000 worth of food wouldn't feed Michele and her entourage for a day.

It is always good to be prepared with this government. Glen Beck started quite a movement of Preppers. It has taken hold and has caused shortages.

If the gov is stockpiling food, it’s not for poor people. Gov does what it needs to do to survive, and if there was a disaster pending that was going to fundamentally change our way of life, they would not tell anyone until the absolute minute.

What the hell do you want, at $16 a muffin a platoon of Marines could run you 5 figures easy, those boys can EAT.

Good example of how to create an article out of nothing.

Approximately the cost of one day of muffins and coffee for the Pentagon. I wonder if they’re ordering freeze dried muffins?

When I talked to him today, he had just received a huge order for storable food from a U.S. government source. He told me that the dollar amount of the order was in the "five figures".

That's 10's of thousands of dollaaars. Not exactly a huge buy.

When he asked about why so much food was being ordered, the government source told him essentially that "you know what is coming".

I doubt a low level procurement officer would have any idea whatsoever why this purchase was being made. I sell to the DOD every day and it doesn't work like that.

If multiple agencies within our gov’t and gov’ts around the world are stockpiling, someone would spill the beans.

Government cannot do anything on a large-scale in secret.

MREs are about $5 each in large bulk. $10,000 is about 2 years of food for one hard-working person. Per my tagline-indicated blog, low end for reasonable eating means $10,000 would feed 9 people for a year.

Scale the “5 digits” consequences accordingly.

Well I heard a similar story about a month ago but couldn't verify it. Might be why the push is on to fund FEMA.

One thing for sure, with the big banks, hedge funds, and big government getting involved in our food production, we're certain to have severe future shortages of food.

Food is the ultimate tool to control the populace (e.g. North Korea, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China).

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!" — Revelation 6:5-6

The “survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations” as noted would require $1B. Not 5 digits, but it IS a very sobering thought.

The backordered suppliers mentioned have often made clear the overwhelming demand is exactly that: overwhelming demand from the general public, not some conspiratorial secret mass purchase.

5 figures isn’t enough to keep the average grocery store stocked for more than two days or so.

Just More BS.
