The Texas House had a 78 to 72 Democrat majority and the Senate was 16 Republicans to 15 Democrats at the time this passed.

Today the count in the House is is 101 Republicans and 49 Democrats and the Senate has 19 Republicans and 12 Democrats.

That is largely because of THIS issue and voter ID!

Ah, so the now Republican legislature has obviously been submitting bills to the Governor to repeal “in-state tuition” for illegals. If I recall, VoterID was signed recently by Perry, so I assume Perry vetoed the “in-state tuition” repeal, since obviously it overwhelmingly has “the will of the people” to back it up?
