These are just his true colors showing. His core. They usually have just enough education and savvy to cover up their real selves and motives. It’s instilled in them from a young age, that’s how they got into such “elite” schools in the first place. Carlson attended Trinity College in Connecticut, infamously known as the rich ivy reject school.
Why does this matter? Because his behavior is revelatory and indicative of the kinds of people who have been running our governments and corporations these past few decades: New England ole boys clubs, who never truly let go of their corrupt, frat boy ways.
