Training IS important. No doubt. Tthis is a fact one would be foolish to ignore.

Nevertheless, “training” can not take the place of unit cohesion and competent leadership: two qualities seldom seen in ad hoc mobs.

Good points. The mobs can do great damage for short periods of time, look at Rwanda, Kenya and no doubt other examples. And they can be led or sort of pushed by those with some training.

And what rabid feral humans might lack in training and discipline, they can sort of make up for - at least in the short term - with viciousness and blood lust.
