Thing is, the starving third world children could be saved through the usage of DDT and drought resistant cereal grains.

Don't believe that DDT is some kind of miracle. It was never banned in South Africa, India, Pakistan and a few other places. In all of them, it's almost completely useless now because of the emergence of resistant mosquitoes.

The point isn’t DDT but what its banishment represents. Politically correct but nebulous pseudo scientific studies carry more weight than human lives and living conditions.

I’m certain modifications could have been discovered over the last 30 years to stay ahead of mosquito changes had DDT not been banned.
