STOCKHOLM – DEVELOPING — Swedish secret police arrested four people early Sunday on suspicions of conspiring to plan a terror attack, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reported Sunday.
Officers from the Swedish security service, SAPO, cordoned off an art venue in the southern city of Gothenburg as part of their investigation. The cordon was lifted at 6:00am local time Sunday.
The four people were arrested close to the venue, the newspaper reported. SAPO refused to disclose the gender, nationalities or ages of those arrested.
“We can confirm that four people have been arrested on suspicion that they will commit acts of terrorism. There is the confidentiality of investigations, and therefore we cannot give details,” SAPO spokeswoman Sara Kvarnstrom told Aftonbladet.
