Don’t fear the Hoffa
Daily mail, WV ^ | September 5, 2011 | Don Surber

Posted on 09/06/2011 3:25:11 AM PDT by opentalk

Jimmy Hoffa got his job as Teamster president the old-fashioned way: He inherited from his father who had the misfortune of being offed by mobsters. On Labor Day, the AFL-CIO and the Teamsters decided for irony’s sake to rally in Detroit, a town ruined by the UAW, and the SEIU loaned them President Obama to serve as their main speaker.

Hoffa huffed and puffed and actually threatened violence against members of the Tea Party. But while conservatives should be concerned, this is not the pants-wetter it might have been 30 years ago.

This is what Jimmy Hoffa said: “We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war… President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.”

President Obama took the stage next and noted he is proud of Jimmy Hoffa. Dick Nixon said the same thing in 1973.

I am curious a as to whom they plan to take America back from. Themselves? The unions and the Democratic Party won it all in 2008 and afterward they confiscated GM and divvied up much of $500 billion (the spending part of the stimulus) among themselves in the cynical pursuit of the almighty buck.

accusing Sarah Palin

Remember, someone burned Sarah Palin's church, it was arson. It was torched with people in the building. Was that done by Obozo's army? These are vermin.

I saw some of that irresponsible, reckless and ‘inciting to riot’ speech on the news.

It is all there in plain sight.

It is the greedy, ugly and hateful face of Labor and their Liberal enablers.

Reducing political discourse to the level of a street brawl, refusing to (being UNABLE to) express yourself in any but the most hysterically coarse and detestable way is THE Liberals’ style.

In fact, as a college student, I ran into just THIS unreasonable, belligerent and selfish point of view whenever I listened to Liberals. (Believe me you only LISTEN, because they will not permit you to speak.) If I toyed with the idea of hearing THEIR side of things, their maniacal hysterics and lack of hard reasoning put me off permanently.

Not even considering propriety, what does it say about my intellect if I see NOTHING deviant and corrupted in any of this?

Interesting read from Michelle Malkin:

...Meet Eddie York. He was a workingman whose story will never scroll across Obama’s teleprompter. A nonunion contractor who operated heavy equipment, York was shot to death during a strike called by the United Mine Workers 17 years ago. Workmates who tried to come to his rescue were beaten in an ensuing melee.

The head of the UMW spearheading the wave of strikes at that time? Richard Trumka. Responding to concerns about violence, he shrugged to the Virginian-Pilot in September 1993: “I’m saying if you strike a match and you put your finger in it, you’re likely to get burned.” Incendiary rhetoric, anyone?

A federal jury convicted one of Trumka’s UMW captains on conspiracy and weapons charges in York’s death.

According to the Washington, D.C.-based National Legal and Policy Center, which tracks Big Labor abuse, Trumka’s legal team quickly settled a $27 million wrongful death suit filed by York’s widow just days after a judge admitted evidence in the criminal trial. An investigative report by Reader’s Digest disclosed that Trumka “did not publicly discipline or reprimand a single striker present when York was killed. ...

In Illinois, Trumka told UMW members to “kick the s**t out of every last” worker who crossed his picket lines, according to the Nashville (Ill.) News.

Big Labor’s legacy of violence

Was he really threatening violence?

Dunno.

If I call you and your family son of bitches and say to my pals, "Let's take them out", how are you feeling about my "rhetoric or is it a threat"?

Nah, nothing violent about “taking the sons of bitches out”. Especially coming from union goons taking about going to war. It’s all just in our heads because we’re all morons. Leftists mean us no real harm at all.

They’re scared to death of Tea Parties. They fear the truth. They tremble at Sarah Palin’s piercing jabs.

If you turn on the lights where there are cockroaches, they all scurry back into the darkness. That’s what they like . Darkness.

Light is truth and Sarah and the T.P. fire it accurately into the enemy lines.

James P. Hoffa and the teamsters union are a totally owned subsidiary of the DOJ.

Since the teamsters signed off on the Consent Decree the DOJ effectively runs the union under a federal trusteeship

Hoffa Lite doesn't sneeze without an OK from DOJ

I’m not going to care.
You’re not the only one.
Some twits just talk big/tough. Meh.

Who is he & his minions going to target? How? To what end?
The targets adhere to “RKBA”. Predators who find their prey equally capable find other targets.

Of course I remember. He was a lone crazy willing to lose it all. Hoffa et al are not willing to lose it all.

The Left has been using vicious rhetoric for a long time. Seldom do they act on it beyond a rhetorical tool for riling up conservatives.

I’m not saying they don’t get violent.
I’m saying they talk that way a lot more than they act.
If he’s just trash-talking to pump up an audience, I don’t care.
If he follows up with strategic planning, equipping, and tactical training for goons, then I’m concerned.
So far it sounds like he’s just spouting hot air.

finnsheep:
What the unions are terrified of is what happened in WI.
My sil works for the state and they used to have their union dues deducted from their paychecks.

The unions get a clause written into the contract that they can fire you if you don’t pay up — member or not, you have to pay.

Trust me - I know - nearly got fired by a union in the past...
