Texas Governor Rick Perry provided a glimpse of the kind of president he might be when he skipped the chance to participate in a nationally televised political forum to do his job. Mr. Perry was slated to appear with other GOP presidential contenders at Senator Jim DeMint's (R-South Carolina) Palmetto Freedom Forum on Labor Day, but instead he rushed back to work as a roaring wildfire raced across Central Texas.

It should be noted that we Druids of the “Cult of Palin” recently determined that the cauldron in question located in the most ‘holey’ grounds of Trollhenge is white, porcelain and flushes. Strangely the PDSers get upset with us when we mention it...can’t imagine why ;)
Our whole area is dry as a bone and the fires are still only 0% contained. So - I would say that a debate doesn't even register in the magnitude of this.
When the oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico and oil came ashore killing fish and wildlife, it took Obama weeks before he came down to look it over - remember?
And the beaches were cleared of dead fowl and much of the oil before he came, so that the pictures would look 'better'. I remember the pictures of him stooping down and picking up one glob of oil on his fingertip. He deserved the ridicule!
