I really think there are some areas that should be off-limits to political correctness. The military is one of them. And anything that flies is another--if not for the pilot's sake then for the sake of those on the ground. This means no affirmative action for anyone connected with the flight, no special concessions or waivers of regulations for Muslims, minorities, the disabled, etc, and no pretending that the laws of physics, chemistry and aerodynamics can be overridden so that some bureaucrat can feel good about being green.
The flight crew should ask those bureaucrats this question: What would do more damage to the environment--the normal exhaust fumes emitted from six Blue Angel jets, or a massive billowing cloud of toxic black smoke created when one or more of them crashes because the biofuel was not up to the demands of high-performance aerobatics?
