Last year, I told all of my friends and everyone I know that Sarah Palin will run for President in 2012. Now, I really believe it is going to happen.

So you really didn't believe it when you were telling them all the same thing last year?

Well it was really too early to tell when I was telling everyone that she will run. It was just a guess when I was saying it; now its for real. There are signs pointing to a Palin candidacy as indicated in the article.

This reminds me of all the hoopla that surrounded Fred Thompson. He is going to run. No, he’s not going to run. He’ll announce next month. No, it won’t be until later. Meanwhile, poor ol’ Fred had to be pushed kicking and screaming into the race. His rabid supporters on this forum were absolutely convinced that a guy with a drawl and a red pickup truck and all that name recognition and movie tough guy roles would wipe up the floor with the other candidates. Didn’t happen.

Turned out Fred was a dud of a candidate whose long hesitation and indecision about running were the truest indications of the level of commitment and enthusiasm he brought to the campaign. He fizzled pretty quickly. I watched his few campaign appearances that were televised on C-Span. It was obvious to everyone except the true believers that the guy was not interested. He showed up at the Iowa State Fair in Gucci loafers and drove around for a few minutes in a golf cart. Then he left. I said he would be gone in a month or two and I was stomped on here as some kind of heretic.

I’ll hazard an opinion again. Palin will not run. If she does, she’ll sink like a rock like Thompson did. Perry and Bachmann are already talking about the same issues and offering the same solutions as Palin. And they’re more credible with the general electorate and with Republican voters. Palin is yesterday’s news. She’s redundant. She should stay in Alaska and run a tourist business. I think the American people are tired of her pussyfooting around, trying to steal the limelight from the candidates who are out there hour after hour day after day working hard for the nomination. I’m tired of her. Pee or get off the pot, as my grandmother used to say.
