"I think there is a path to citizenship for those young men and women ILLEGAL ALIENS who have served their country," Perry said.

THEIR COUNTRY?! Perry thinks America is THEIR COUNTRY?!
Perry wants to give ILLEGAL aliens citizenship

In 2001, Perry signed into law the very first Texas “Dream ACT.” It allowed the children of illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition at any Texas university. Perry defended the Texas “Dream ACT,” saying, “To punish these young Texans for their parents' actions is not what America has always been about.”

Sr El Perrista receives a blanket from Mexican Gov Enrique Martinez of
Coahuila, as a token of appreciation for enacting the Texican Dream Act.

Perry then jetted off to Mexico and bragged to the Mexicans that Texas passed this law, saying, “The message is simple, educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.” Education is the future, and yes we can.
Rick Perry’s immigration problem

"Yes We Can"? Where have we heard that before?

In February 2007, Perry signed a shocking executive order forcing every sixth-grade girl to submit to a three-jab regimen of the Gardasil vaccine. He also forced state health officials to make the vaccine available "free" to girls ages 9 to 18. The drug, promoted by manufacturer Merck as an effective shield against the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV) and genital warts, as well as cervical cancer, had only been approved by the Food and Drug Administration eight months prior to Perry's edict.

Perry defenders pointed to a bogus "opt-out" provision in his mandate "to protect the right of parents to be the final authority on their children's health care." But requiring parents to seek the government's permission to keep an untested drug out of their kids' veins is a plain usurpation of their authority. Translation: Ask your bureaucratic overlord to determine if a Gardasil waiver is right for you.

Libertarians and social conservatives alike slammed Perry's reckless disregard for parental rights and individual liberty. The Republican-dominated legislature also balked. In May 2007, both chambers passed bills overturning the governor's unilaterally imposed health order.
Perry's vaccine order exposed lapse in political, policy judgments Rick Perry’s Superficial Extremism The Texas governor’s record doesn’t live up to his rhetoric.

“The Gardasil debacle is just one of many concerns a wide range of grass-roots conservative activists have about Perry’s record as governor. He’s soft on illegal immigration despite a few recent nods to border enforcement. He’s prone to crony capitalism. And as the vaccine mandate scandal shows, he demonstrated Nanny State tendencies that are anathema to Tea Party core principles.

Once again, the Perry campaign proves my point about the non-walkback-walkback. If Perry “erred on the side of life,” what his campaign continues to suggest is that those who opposed his Gardasil mandate from the beginning chose death. Instead of renouncing the human shield demagoguery he engaged it after the repeal, the Perry campaign has doubled-down. There is nothing — nothing — Tea Party about this.

The Gardasil debacle is a useful red flag on Perry’s basic political instincts, judgment, core values, and trust. It is no surprise — given his ties to Merck — that Perry is a consummate practitioner of corporate welfare “public-private partnerships.
Plumbing the rest of the Perry record

Perry’s campaign website lists the Trans-Texas Corridor as one of his accomplishments. But is it something Perry really wants broadcast as an achievement? The Texas Republican Party’s 2010 platform includes a plank specifically opposing the Trans-Texas Corridor.
Rick Perry's NAFTA Superhighway Problem

That’s why I am also excited that Texas Secretary of State Henry Cuellar is working on an initiative that could extend the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border.

This is a very accurate article regarding Perry. He likes to take credit for the Texas economy but the reality is Texas has lots of resources and that’s the reason we have done better than other states. Also, we won’t forget when he tried to force young girls to be vaccinated against the papilloma virus.

Great article. This is important information that, like his tax payer funded slush fund and the gardisil fiasco, shows Perry is more than willing to screw the people in pursuit of his corporate sponsor’s goals.

Texas’s version of the Corrupt Bastards Club.

I’m going to make sure and get this out to everyone I know.

I am pretty sure that my loyalty will lie with Palin if she runs but Perry strikes me as much better than Romney.

One thing about Perry is that he couldn’t have gotten done what he did without a like minded House and Senate and we need to concentrate on sending a majority of Republicans to the US Congress this next election.

I like that MarkAmerica. He’s an excellent writer. I know nothing of Perry, but much about Sarah.

I know, she’s not in it......yet. The more I learn about Perry, the more he reminds me of the RINOS I promised myself I wouldn’t vote for (my last vote was for Sarah, NOT mclame).

If the country wants to bring itself to ruin (Conservatives/Tea Party not included), so be it. Let the war begin.

If Sarah isn’t on my ballot, I’m writing her in.

NOT interested in seeing Perry in the WH this coming election anymore than Mitt Romney. We need a totally fresh start both in Congress, and the WH.

We personally will be disappointed if we cannot have Palin in the WH, and a heavy TEA Party presence in a majority Republican Congress.

IF idiots nominate Perry, we’ll have no choice but to support him over Obama of course. NOT our choice.

Thanks for your post, el_texicano. I haven't decided who I really like, only a couple I really don't like.

So, your post gives me point of reference to understand where Perry is; I'm reading FED UP! I don't know any candidates’ hagiography (hope that is right wood!) so I'm ready to start digging!

I know Kinky Friedman (sic?) likes him (so that's a plus-heh!). But, I want to see any undersides all of the candidates have.

Thanks for some stuff to chew on! texicana hummingbird

Borrowing a line from Mark Belling on the Rush show the other day, I’d prefer a stronger Conservative on some issues but I’d crawl over broken glass to vote for Rick Perry if the alternative was 4 more years of Obama.

“The presidential race is heating up. We now have conservatives Bachmann and Cain officially in the race fending off RINO Romney; and Palin and Perry could possibly jump in. My hopes are with Palin, but if she decides not to run I could be happy with Bachmann or Cain. Also, if Palin does not run but Perry does, he’d probably suck all the air out of the race. Either way, Palin, Bachmann, Cain or even Perry would all be excellent alternatives to Obama the commie. Anyone but RINO Romney the big government chief architect of CommieCare!”

Dear MarkAmerica:

I have been looking around for your in-depth assessment of B. Obama circa 2007 (approx one year before the election catastrophe of 2008) but I haven't found it. Perhaps you could post it or send it to me. Until then I will just consider you another DNC pimp posting hit pieces.

BTW, conservatives everywhere will be making their own assessments based on the negatives and positives of the candidates. We understand that electing a reasonably conservative candidate is the first step. The real work comes following the election where we fight and pressure our elected officials to adhere to first principles and honor (and, fyi Mr. pResident) and enforce the U.S> Constitution.

I anxiously await your response. (Sure I will)

LOL what a bunch of weak baloney.

And regarding the time frame from when Perry was a dem and became a Republican who made the person that wrote this God. LOL So there is a time frame when one is allowed to get active as a Republican when they switch. wow I never knew that.

Sarah is awesome!!!!! And it would be fantastic if she decides to enter the race. If she doesn't do it this time I bet my whole being she will in the future. She would make a perfect President.

But the thing is she is not in the race and this trashing of Perry who Palin also said once was a conservative and she gave her support to. How soon my Tea Party friends forget that. hmmmmm To bash Perry imo is also bashing Sarah and her support she gave to Perry.

Our country has an enemy that has got to be beat or we might as well say goodbye to our country. THAT is what we all should be concentrating on, not this in house fighting in our own party. The left is eating this up....the eating of our own.
