Third-party bids would help Obama (v.Mittens, PPP poll)
PPP Blogspot ^ | August 25, 2011

Some have suggested that with an unpopular president who's got a somewhat dissatisfied base and suffers from a weak economy, and with a Republican nominee who inevitably will either struggle with the middle or who is not conservative enough for the right, there is room for a strong third-party bid for the first time in at least 16 years. But we took a look at seven possible independent candidates against Obama and his strongest GOP challenger, Mitt Romney, and found that the chances of defection by GOP-inclined voters are stronger than are cracks in the Democrats’ armor. Despite their grumbling, Democrats remain pretty united behind Obama, and six of the seven possible independent candidates would hurt Romney more than the president.

Head-to-head, Romney and Obama are tied at 45% in the national popular vote, per Tuesday’s release. Against Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the major-party candidates are still knotted at 42%, with Bloomberg at 10%. Faced with a well-known moderate who leans more left these days, this is the only instance in which Romney is able to hold more of his base than the president does of his (82% versus 78%). But Obama treads water by holding a six-point lead with independents, 13% of whom go to Bloomberg.

LOL, I realize PPP is a leftist outfit, but they are almost begging someone to jump in to help the Zero's numbers - I think they have the wrong GOP nominee, though . . .

With a challenge from his left by either Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders or perpetual Democratic thorn Ralph Nader, Obama would remain at 45%, with Romney falling to 41% and Nader getting 7% and Sanders only 5%.

So Nader takes more votes from Romney that from Obama? That's just nuttier than Nader. I'll take the risk. Run, Ralph, run! You saved the nation in 2000, you can do it again in 2012.

Guess that’s why the AP has published its own poll to promote that idea.

That's where Trump comes in . . . a phony Republican, huffed and puffed to get Obambi to come up with a fraudulent b'certificate.

Now that the asshat came up with the fraudulent document, and now that any remaining critics of it will be discarded as conspiracy nuts, Trump can come out when the field get defined, and with Obambi's permission, start a 3rd party with the Republican sheep to go along.

Thus removing enough votes from the election to allow the Kenyan-born grifter and his corpulent wife to continue for 4 more years . . . and the STUPID PARTY WILL ALLOW THAT TO HAPPEN UNLESS THEY'RE PREPARED.

The Tea Party (the only Republicans left) have got to rid themselves of Romney and these other phony Repubs.

Good gawd, what a bleak scenario.

Having Trump "offer" himself as a 3rd party with a "conservative" message would trickle away votes that will be needed to dump this POS out of our White House.

Let's not assume that the average voter has any brains. And since his appeal would be to the "moderates" or disenchanted lefties, it could cost us a chance to get rid of this illegal alien.

I have no doubt that the dummycrats are holding Trump in the background to be used like Ross Perot. And don't forget, Trump loves the adoration he gets.

With Huntsman’s campaign dead in the water, now the left will do anything it can to get their second-best choice in there: Mitt.

Good luck with that.

strongest GOP challenger, Mitt Romney

I stopped reading right there.

But there is a real danger that Trump will run as a third party candidate. And as we saw earlier, there are a fair number of people who may be fooled into thinking that he is a "conservative." I think he's been working for Obama the whole time.

The MSM, the left, the DNC, the socialists, the Marxists...all are falling all over themselves, hoping, wishing, salivating for some independent or conservative 3rd party run.

They are begging for it as they watch their man flounder more and more as he continues his efforts to destroy America.

The biggest worry I have in that regard is Trump. He has come on the scene and seems to be (at least to me) paralleling the role Perot played in handing the White House to Clinton.

I pray God almighty that we are strong enough, that enough Americans are fed up enough with Obama...and wise enough to 1st, not make it possible or oportune at all for it to happen...and 2nd, if it does, to see the 3rd party and Obama both go down in abject defeat.

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

Yeah, I strill find it hard to believe that Ross Perot got almost 20% of the vote. Trump worries me, too, he has the same populist appeal as Perot did.
