Pro-Sarah Palin threads like this bring out the PDS’ers like Moths to a flame.

Citizen, please help me. I have searched diligently for the phrase “4 years” or even “full term” in the Alaskan oath of office, and have not found it. Please tell me where it is, so that I may believe you are not making things up:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Alaska, and that I will faithfully discharge my duties as [Governor of the State of Alaska] to the best of my ability.”

Your tagline would be more fitting at Frum Forum, Moderate Voices or some such.

Well, just to let you know, I am an Alaskan, I live in Wasilla and was quite disappointed that Sarah Quit. Not because she was a quitter, but because Alaska and this area sorely needs her. It was horrible how the media and a few basement dweller used the court system she put in place to destroy her on such frivolous charges. It was also horrible that it was bankrupting us paying for their political agendas. Millions of dollars being burned up in courts and it was not costing the basement dwellers a dime!

Do you actually think Sarah wanted to quit? And that she did it for money? Nothing in her history points to that, in fact her track record holds her comments that she was doing what was best for the state with the difficult political trickery that we were buried in. I am quite sure as a savvy politician she knew it just might spell the end of her career as a politician, but she did, as she promised to do, what was best for the people rather than herself.

The fact that she turned the MSM attacks dogs into a monetary asset is just a typical Sarah kind of thing. The lady is darn good with making silk purses out of sows ears, the Boom-Town growth of Wasilla and the condition of the budget of Alaska when she left is a good indication of that.

I hope she runs, I just wish I was a democrat so I could vote twice for her.

This is one Wasillian Alaska that appreciates what she has done for me, and she does not even know me. But... I KNOW HER and that is why she has my support and vote.

Just thought you might like to know what Alaskans really think of her.

(Romney/Christie or Rubio!! Either would be great. Bachmann fading...No more Dick Obama in 2012!)

Hmmmm.... Romney of RomneyCare, the big dig, RomneyMarriage, gun bans, etc.? Chris Christie, the gun grabber and pro-Mosque politician? Really?

I agree. What would have been more honorable: Palin keeping the governorship "in title only" while she rattled around in the lower 48 setting the stage for a presidential run or Palin giving up the governorship so that the people of Alaska could have a fulltime governor?

I understand Palin also had other reasons for resigning (such as having petty lawsuits filed against her that state of Alaska would not protect her against) but the bottom line is that if Palin kept the job, she would not be in position to run for president today.

Contrast this to Obama who held the office of congressman and senator and yet never paid much attention to either job. While a congressman, his focus was on running for senator. Once a senator, he was too busy running for president to do that job as well. As senator, he missed over 80% of the votes during the presidential election season.

Now Obama has to work for the first time in his life as he has nothing else to run for - and we all see how that is turning out.

Actually, I will go past Obama, because his record and example are not even worth comparing/contrasting - the guy's a complete dead-beat, and has never shown the dignity to lead by example!

But, I will apply my point directly to our own side, present and past contenders for President (or any higher office being contested-for).

If you want to run for President, then RESIGN YOUR CURRENT POSITION when you make the decision to run and campaign for the higher office.

If you're serious about campaigning, then it's a FULL TIME JOB, or you should make it a FULL TIME JOB, if you want to be taken seriously.

Put YOUR JOB on the line!

How many of us can tell our boss... "hey, Boss, I need to be in/out of the office for the next few months while I look for a job somewhere else. Oh, by the way, I don't need your ok, I'm just tellin ya! See ya!"

Well we have a problem here.

So, since Palin was forced to resign her Governor position for reasons you are well aware of, she has Not quit being involved in politics on a national level which also proves she is not a quitter.

On the other hand, as long as you believe your own BS line from the media...you will always be an idiot!

“when being the governor of AK was going to hold back her personal ambitions”

If Sarah Palin is the kind to go after personal ambitions at the expense of the people, how do you explain her refusal to accept pay raises and other special privileges throughout her political career, including a jet for her personal use?

Please think again.

Sarah said it herself...”GAME ON!”

Great post. The time is nearing when we will all know what Sarah has in mind. Until then, we hope and pray for our country's survival.

Hey puppy, Palin is the Reagan of this time!

I voted for Reagan and will be even more thrilled to vote for Palin because or the hate of the left, media, chicken Conservatives, GODLESS people that we have to day.

The polls always had Reagan losing to Carter, and dumb Republicans belived the polls.

You prove that things don't change.

I was in MA when your man Romney was guv. He was a mediocre one his first two years and then, worse than Palin, he ran for president full-time, largely out of state, while still occupying the office. The GOP fell to historical lows in MA on his watch.

Oh, and your second choice, Christie, is toying with a presidential run after only 18 months in office.

“...resign her Governor position for reasons you are well aware of”

Rationalizations don’t equate to valad reasons to quit. The only valid reasons for leaving office prematurely are physical or mental incapacitation of the office holder or a family emergency so severe that it requires the full time attention of the office holder to deal with it. Bad press, lawsuits and the threats of them, claiming her family is enduring stress, etc were rationalizations. Palin did not leave office and retire to a home in Wasilla and nurture her family. She went about boosting her brand as a marketable commodity.

Palin wanted to quit and she did just that. It is a matter of record. jmo

So....exactly how do Chris Lee, Congressman Wu, and little tony wiener fit into your "opinion"?

Thanks for your jmo...

Next time leave that opinion up to the person who must survive.

Nothing says that politicians must be forced into bankruptcy before they can leave office. If you don’t approve, so what!
