FReeper Gathering at Indianola? (vanity - just curious to know if there are any plans)
Springfield Reformer's Curiosity | 8/23/2011 | Springfield Reformer

Does anybody know if there’s going to be a gathering of FReepers in connection with the Indianola event? If so, what are the plans? I’ve heard from a few folks who would be interested. If we are getting together, we need a plan, where, when, what to wear, etc. I’m thinking of making up a “FReepers 4 Palin” t-shirt for myself if we do this. Thoughts? Info?

That would be a great idea! Even a FR booth to promote FR to folks.

Palin-related Ping (with an incomplete, cobbled-together Palin ping list - sorry).

I don’t know anything about the area; are there any Iowa FReepers planning on attending? We’re planning on making the 4 hour trip that day. I’d be okay with the t-shirt idea. Are you getting yours made from Cafe Press or Spreadshirt? Should we agree on a color so we can more easily recognize each other from a distance?

I would be willing to do some internet research on potential meeting places for either before or after the rally if you want. It would help to know if I should look for family friendly places or adult beverage type places.

Good questions all. I don’t know the area either, and I haven’t heard anything yet from Iowa FReepers. A number of the major Palin FREepers were engaged in fierce combat through the night, onyx in particular, and I think everyone has sort of missed my post. So I think I’ll wait a little longer before we start up with specifics.

As for the t-shirts, I’m going to make my own right here in town at a local graphics shop, same place I had my big Palin yard sign made up. In my mind’s eye I’m picturing white with red lettering, but that’s just random impression, probably based on the look & feel of the FR site. I have no idea what good colors or designs might be, so I am open to suggestions. But I agree there should be a designated color for recognition.

Anyway, I’ll send some emails to some of the Palin “ring leaders” and see if we can’t get the conversation going. I’ll keep you all posted.

Let me know any concerns and how I can help. I am a member of all three groups: Iowa Freeper, O4P and TPoA organizer. I will do all I can to help, answer questions or advise on details.

Thanks for the update. I like the idea of white t’s with red lettering or anything sort of patriotic looking; makes the libs crazy.

Am planning on bringing the camper from Nebraska into Lake Ahquabi on Thursday. Hope there are sites left, with the Labor Day weekend coming up and all.

Wayward, do you know anything about this park?

Indianola used to be a sleepy little private college town on HWY 92? off of I-35, bet it will be buzzin’ on 9/3!

We will be making the camping and hotel deals available this weekend. There are many higher priority things to do with a last minute venue change right now. I would just call them direct and see. There are other places around too. Everything around Des Moines is less than an hour of travel.

Grand idea and I see that VR has just pinged SARAH PALIN’S HUGE AND AWESOME PING LIST!

I wish I could recall the screen names of others not on SARAH’S LIST, whom I know are planning to attend. Maybe MountainDad or Two Kid’s Dad can recall: one screen name has several numbers in it?

I know for sure that two attended the Ames Iowa State Fair.
Provided I am feeling much better tomorrow and that I have time, I will try my best to recall the threads wherein they posted to me and I will ome back to ping them.

Cool. It’s late, and I’m falling asleep at the keyboard. I’ll check in again tomorrow when I’ve regained consciousness.

Peace,

I’m in. I will be there. Do the organizers still need volunteers to help prepare this Saturday?

I don’t know. I think this thread is more about trying to see if FReepers can get together to meet!!!!
