He's the smartest guy in the room... 30 months of relentless beatings with the clue stick hasn't been enough for Peggy.

If I had my way that idiot would resign yesterday. But we all can't get what we want. Maybe the big news Obama is supposedly going to tell us in September will be he's finally decided he's too stupid to lead the country and Bite Me Biden will take over. lol

They fill the room...and fill the bill.
I'm wondering if some of the people in the WH are getting a little bit tired of his vacations while they do all the work and they all look stupid.

Corky, Corky, Corky.
Don't be a blog pimp.
You may be amusing yourself out there on Sanibel but I am not even a little bemused by your post.
You could have linked to Peggy's ridiculous article and made a few personal responses in your post. That would have contributed to the conversation here. Dragging us off to your retirement blog is, well, unnecessary.

This would be a nightmare. The D’s would nominate someone just as bad but much harder to beat.

What objective reason does the media have to keep parroting that characterization? He speaks with a teleprompter and doesn’t do so well without one. He has made gaffes that would have been used by the left to continue painting Bush as stupid if he had made them. We’ve never seen a single college or law school transcript. He’s never held a real job in the private sector. He espouses ridiculous, sophomoric, (and dangerous) ideological positions.
The list goes on. What are they basing their comments on? A book? Even if he did write it cover to cover, which I understand is doubted by many, so what? Lots of people write books, and lots of people write really good books. That doesn’t make them geniuses or have any relevancy as to whether or not they’d be a good president.

I suspect Peggy must be lamenting her own disillusionment as well...

It is racist to criticize Obama for vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard. It is also racist to criticize him for having no debt reduction plan, for declaring Cut, Cap & Balance dead before it had passed the House, for wasting a trillion dollars of stimulus money, for accusing him of using corrupt political influence to grant Obamacare waivers to businesses loyal to his campaign coffers, for not agreeing that his administration has created or saved 2 million jobs, and for pointing out the annual debt has more than quadrupled and our accrued cumulative debt has grown by $6 trillion during his 2.5 years in office.
Furthermore, only a racist will accuse him of weakness for not responding when Putin recently called the US a “parasite” to the world’s economy, and for not even rebuking Pakistan, much less withholding further support when they allowed the Chinese to inspect our crashed helicopter at the bin Laden house. And it really makes my blood boil when racists accuse Obama of exploiting and politicizing the Obama hit by publicizing and releasing information about the SEALS team and then allowing a photo op of himself at Andrews upon the return of the caskets of 30 SEALS team heroes killed by Taliban. Not to mention any racist accusations of the misuse of Justice department in dealing arms to Mexican drug dealers, and new backdoor efforts to implement the Dream Act.
Stand up and fight, Mr. President! Don’t let these racists get you down. Fight on, all the way to election day and don’t change a thing! /s

No Democrat would dare to challenge Obama for the nomination. Democrats almost never take on an incumbent president of their party,
That statement is patently untrue. There have been only three incumbent Democrats running for re-election since the adoption of the primary system: LBJ, Carter and Clinton. Two of the three were challenged, one successfully (LBJ withdrew after a weak showing in New Hampshire). Carter lost in a landslide in the general election after a competitive battle with Ted Kennedy.
In either party, if the incumbent is seen as vulnerable, he will draw an opponent. As you mention later, only Obama's protective melanin has staved off a challenge. However, he reason that staves off a challenge is not only because of what it does to the career of the challenger. The bigger problem is all of the Senators and Reps who would lose their seats if the African-American voters feel snookered by the Dems. If HRC ran against and beat Obama in Round 2, NYC, Detroit, Newark, Philly, Baltimore, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles would all lose minority turnout. The effect would guarantee the pickup of numerous Republican Senate seats, for starters.
