Sometimes, when they do the catherization, they see that they don't need to place the stent. Or else, they might not have been able to access the area they were aiming for. In any case, you have the right to look at your medical records and get an explanation. See if the hospital has a patient advocate available.

Talked to a friend who has a friend, who says what they discovered was a blood clot about the size of a walnut, and hard as a rock, so they had to remove that, and then decided to wait for the rest of the procedur. I guess it all worked out. But thanks for your concern, and help;
